Hi everyone! Im new here so please be gentle. Well you wanted more female input so I guess that makes me the second lady on this forum. Ill need some more time to browse your topics before posting something serious. I was born in Mangeish, Northern Iraq but lived in Baghdad most of my life. Im out of Iraq now since 2003 but have family still in dear sad old Baghdad. My goodness what a tragedy, I'm sure you all feel the same. I must confess that I have lost all hope for Iraq. We were living and behaving like animals now. Sorry for being so negative but after all these years of Saddam and now this. Its too much to bere for anyone.

we r always gentle with all ladies on iraq4u forum. welcome zimzim.

Note to the admin - I think you need some more smillies. These are old. Sorry I am just making an observations.

This is my final post for today. Sahtha Hassoun was not born in Iraq. She never lived in Iraq. She never even put her feet on Iraqi soil but she showed more emotion for Iraq than most Iraqis ever did. There is a petition organize by Iraqis for the nomination of Shatha for Iraqs good will ambassador to the UN. Pls sign it and send to your friends. http://www.petitiononline.com/shassoun/petition.html
After they get 500000 signaters it will be submitted to the secretary general.

See you all next week.

Hi L.B.

My cousin lives in Amman, Jordan now.
If you are in Amman, then you might know him.
He is there with his family.
Do you know any Iraqi Armenians in Jordan, Amman?

My salam to you Harry. No I dont know many people in Jordan. Left Iraq when I was 10. Lived in France, Germany, UK, Dubai then back to Baghdad in late 2003. After staying in our old house in Mansour for 18 months I realized there was no future for me in this new Islamic, fanatic, dishonest, fake Iraq. Now living in Amman but I travel a lot so havent really had much time to socialize. You probably know Jordan better than me.

Welcome LOB. When you returned to Baghdad what was your impression after all those years? Many friends of mine also returned after the war and they have mixed emotions.

I had no impression because I left at a very young age. Many of my family say this is a blessing because I cant compare this Iraq to the one I left so many years ago. Baghdad today is tired and neglected. Everything is falling apart and there are no services to speak of. It stinks too from all the generator fumes and traffic but I still love Baghdad, she is in my blood.
