you cannot stop when you strat smoking you are hooked by it so please do not fool yourself that (want to give it up) stop joking yourself, because simply when you strat with it you cannot stop it espacially when you continue smoking for about more than 10 years ago it will be dificullt, and what about those discusting drinks you are saying are you alcahol and beer drinker, oh i am sorry what i am trying to say that is that you like very much.

To my sins, my friends, I was a wine merchant once upon a time.  I love wines from france and germany.
I like a good whisky, and I lived in scotland for two years in the early 90's.  I must have sampled over 100 types of malts.

Moving away from politics for a moment, which Malts and wines would you recommend and how did you find running an off license in Scotland?

When I lived in scotland I didn't have an off licence, that was in england.  I had a small chain of wine shops, very little spirits, and only the unusual beers from around the world. 
I love french wines especially from the burgundies, and Bordeuax. 
I also sold a good selection of malts.  Next time you come to england, I will take you to a shop that only sells whisky and nothing else.
email me ur address, and I will send u a pocket guide to wines and vintages.  I also taught people taking masters in wine, my subject was Vintage Port.  And the oldest bottle I drank was 1912.  It was out of this world. 
In Iraq we have the capabilities to produce excellent wines, and I was thinking that one day when we have peace, you and moat ahmer and myself will sit under a vine tree tasting our hard effort, maybe we can ask harry to join us.  He probably likes those american californian soda water they call wine.

Hello Cakm. you realy think iraq has good weather to produce wines? i know lebanon and jordan make wine and some of the lebanese is very tasty table wine but Iraq seems too hot. I remember some of our christian friends used to give us wine at christmas which was homemade in the north. it tasted like sherry very sweet.

very good malts = Bowmore single malt, Macallan 15 yr old single malt and Glenlivet single malt. a couple of months back i tried johny walker green lable malt and it was also very good.

I think its time we have a whole section about drinks.

Any ideas you may have azinorman I must get involve, I have trade marked it.  You do need experts like me, what do you moat ahmer, you just sit and taste, we'll pay handsomely, (when you drop on the floor legless).

Try a lovely malt from Oben, the older the better.  The family club I am  a member have a good selection of malts which you don't find normally in english clubs.

Have you stopped smoking yet?

We have so much to offer the world in Iraq, not just oil, but minerals, like sulphur, Uranium, Iron, Gold and alot more.  We have dates and the world loves dates, and they haven't tasted the variety we have, last count I remember there were 145.  We used to export fruits and vegetables, we exported clothes, shoes, and so many petro-chemical products, even bones, I mean animals bones, I know there are more human bones now, and those were used in medicines.  We could be the wealthiest country in the world, and yes my friend moat ahmer, we have the soil to produce the best grapes.
On my last visit to amman i had Iraqi Lamb, and my god that was the tastiest food I ever had. 
All what we need is peace.

Actually if we didn't have oil we'd be better off. Its been a black curse for Iraq. Had we been an agricultural society and not had such vast amounts of oil we could have made a pretty good living supplying the Middle East with its meat and veg. Had we put more effort into our tourism industry, both civil and Islamic sectors would have flourished. I could go on but you get my point. Oil is our misery and has been for 100 years. With it came power and with power came the wars. We neglected so much because of it. Haramaat!

To all our wine drinking members:
 
Since I live in California, I have tasted dozens of wines, from Californian to French, even Armenian wine. To be honest with you guys, I do not like sweet wines, anything from Bordeaux, Merlot, to Chardonnay, Pinot noir, even a Zinfandel is good for me. However, from all of the wines in the world I experienced, the best (in my opinion) is French, and then California, nothing else tickled my taste as those two.
 
When it comes to whiskey, I personally hate the taste of Bourbon. The best of taste belongs to Scotch, and at the top is the single malt scotch, once you taste the single malt, all others pale in comparison.
 
 Yes Glenlivet and Glenfiddich are the best.

Well Done Harry now we can add you to the list of winers.
To me wines are people, every bottle has its own Character, body, smell and age.  Sweet wines are mainly drank as aperitif, and those can be very very expensive.  Like Chatuae Quam, a bottle of 1924 could be worth £30K.  I have a dislike to sweet red that is produced in spain and few other countries, except for one Austrian red, this one is out of this world.  If They have wine corner here, I could write about every wine I've tasted, grapes used, region, best vintage and so on.  What do you say harry? you might even get invited.
Getting out of the subject can help sometimes to forget for 5 or 10 minutes our pain in seeing our country distroyed.

yes iraq can produce the best wine because the wine it was known in mesopotamia for thousands of years especailly in the uppor north of mesopotamia where there is a good weather, but generally THE WINES AND THE DRINKS ARE VERY VERY VERY BAD AND DICUSTING IT MAKES HAVE A VERY BAD MOUTH SMELL AND IT CAN DESTROY YOUR LIVER AND YOUR STOMACH.

Eating garlic can give you bad breath but I still eat it, and if you share your meal with your woman, than none of you can smell it, and further more garlic can do wonders for your sexability.
But, wine drinking is romance, holding hands with the one you love, a smile after every sip, a kiss on the lips before the next sip.  And, when the effort of two hours in kitchen comes, its the best compliment when you pour another glass of wine to your beloved master chef. 
From golden trickles of a Chablis premier cru, to deep red Pomerol from the heart of france.  Every wine has a story, every vinyard has another.  The tale of wine appreciation will go on and on and on, and only to be interrupted by someone holding your hand, "Time for bed darling!"

I told you I was a writer, I leave the ending of that little story to your vivid imagination my friend.

One of the most beautiful bottles of whisky in Royal Salute.  An empty bottle can cost well over £30, and that price was from over 20 yrs ago.  The whisky is smooth, velvet in its texture, and expensive.  I believe the one I tasted was a 25 yrs old single malt.  Absolutely gorgeous, and it will put hair on your chest once you try it.

Start with Moonshine. Never tried it but given we'd have to take production facilities under ground to avoid the prohibition Militias it would be our best option. [;)]
