I have invited my pals here from this site to enjoy ourselves with my lovely mother, boy/Manfriend, etc., where we could do this very thing, but ONLY if someone assists with the cooking of some very good food!

I know how to make masgoof, except, I cook it in the oven, all you need to do is get a large Carp, (Not Crap) remove the head, open it from the back (Spine side) and gut it. I will post the ingredients of the salsa mixture and cooking instructions later. Got to go, my boss is getting tiered of seeing me typing on the computer, I need to direct some workers to their jobs.

RideUmCowboy had some recipe for Carp/possum (or road kill).  Maybe that would cure hangover's.
Oh, Cure I tried years back on Pakistani hubby whom greatly enjoyed his $ scotch.

After a night of he, his relatives visiting, friends (again I was the only woman and kept to self, not hard as no English was spoken) drank tons of Scotch, vino and anything/everything available, smoked until the house was so full of smoke couldn't see 2" in front of self, oh not just cig's either.  Many (normal at that x) crashed upon floor to sleep it off (dream on).

I rose in the am, ANGRY, found ever cig butt (m.ja** butt) ashtray, empty bottle, half full dirty glasses, trash, U get the PIC., lined them up from b'room to loo, decorated the loo.  My it was a pirty site!

Hubby had a wonderful x with his head over the potty.  Maybe even got a swirleeeee!!!

Sigh, didn't cure a thing.

Oh well.

Seriously, a couple of beers half full with tomato juice helps.  We always used to cook Kaligosht after a very rough night, the ginger, peppers helped with the tummy tum tum.

Cheers!

Although originally Indian, however, Na'an bread is the closest you can get to the Iraqi khobouz, unless you live in southern California, then you can get your real Iraqi khobouz from "Ali Baba restaurant" in El Cajun near San Diego. It's an authentic Iraqi restaurant, from the music of Iraqi Maqam, and Nathim Alghazaly, down to the raggy and ripped seat cushions, and eating with your hands instead of knives and forks.

Na'an bread, very easy to make from scratch.  Good stuff.  Yeppers, way back when, less wrinkles on face and extremely naive (me, sigh still rather "stupid" in that area, NOT, better to be full of Love than always looking for worst, and I KNOW this is right)used to share meals with the Pakistani's when first met them.  We used newspapers on floor, always bread w/out silverware, not needed.

Oh one more thing, these Muslims, somex's Hindu's, were the cleanest people I had been around.  American's often don't have a clue with their assumptions.  When I do tell of my "stories" I make sure they are aware of this.  Very very very Clean folks.

So my bud's here, when/if u visit, we may do this very thing.  However, I will not be so drunk I can't get off floor, hangover's I do NOT enjoy.  Besides that someone has to keep it together and be the "MOM".  I am pretty good at babysitting.  Sigh, Always...

hugs

me

God how I miss the good old days.

The Koozi, andd the variety of Kuba, liblabi, tikka, we never got ill, or had food problems.  Hambugers from Abu Yonan, and Ghuss from Baghdad take away next too Baghdad super market.  And Pacha from near the old unknown soldier, good old days.  Not to forget the girls from Al-Sharkia school, they were the most beautiful in Baghdad, so we thought then.  Good old days.

This part I agree with You 110%. We used to cut classes and walk from ( معهد ألتكنولوجيا) to the bus stop across from the street where Al-Sharkia school was located, just to meet and great them wacky independent beauties.

Dudes, let me bring you up to date. After the war the best Hamburgers and گص where from Ali Al Lami's supermarket in Jadria. On a Thursday night it was bedlam. Also there was Kassim Abu Al گص in Karrada and if you wanted to go rustic you could go for breakfast at Abu Dawoods in the Sinek where the seats are old oil tins and the barbecue was made from Shailman.

Kassim Abu Al گص opened a branch in Rabia, Amman after receiving kidnapping threats. Its where all the Iraqis congregate after we win football games. After the Asia Cup there were 5000 Iraqis celebrating outside his restaurant and the special forces had to come in after 2 hours to break up the festivities.

Hi
I was there 3 weeks ago. very nice گص , one of the best I have eaten and huge portions. There is also a good mas8oof place there on up the hill from Rabia, near the Israeli embassy ironically. .
Nothing can stop 5000 Iraqi's celebrating, they may succeed if send the whole Jordanian army and riot police to stop them on a lucky day.

Dude, as a matter of fact thats exactly what happened. They sent in the police first, nothing happened, the Iraqis went on singing and waving their flags. Then they sent in the Army commandos who where dressed in black balaclavas and they had to work bloody hard to clear the district. The excuse was that in Jordan there is a law which stipulates the only flag that can be on public display (other than in Embassies) is the Jordanian one. It was a great day and we will at least have the memories of singing and celebrating together, something we haven't had much opportunity to do lately.

The real Jordanians are very good people but the Palestinians are not. In Jordan the Palestinians used to be very sympathetic to Iraq up until 2003 when they stopped getting free education and health care in our country. Also Saddam wasn't around to pay their people $20,000 for each person martyred in their struggle. I used to be sympathetic to their cause but now I think they are all a bunch of self serving users who only give a dam about themselves.

did you know that the jordanian government used to make problems with the iraqis and make them suffer in their lives with their crazy laws and rules in jordan and the iraqis were always complaining in the way the jordanians are dealing with the iraqis.
