In watching a tad bit of the political Sunday am shows, not much as have a flaming head ache, oh well, the show must go on, so to speak.

In regards to the Democratic Candidates, specifically Billary N Obama.  Most likely the American people R so stupid they eventually may elect (or the elections will be rigged, dear me, could this happen in this Free Country, Lions, Tigers, Bears, Oh my!)

I do think the Dude (Obama) needs to carry an Epi-Pen with him in case he gets stung by the Mother of all Queen Bees, one NOT enough a Whole Case of dem suckers!  Also, HE must learn to become a street fighter so he can handle the fire's she may shoot his way HIMSELF keeping clean (my how refreshing that would be, we can all dream, maybe he IS clean, if so let's pray he stays that way)!

A tight rope, yep, dat be vat it may be.  Ms. Billary, I do think, is one SMART woman period, that is without a doubt.  Intelli gents.  Some of those brainy types, however, are NOT KIND people.  Have their head in they're own brains, up their own ar$$#!

I did get stung at the horse barn a couple of days ago, by the largest Queen Bee I have ever seen, matter of FACT I never saw a bee like that before in my life, used 2 Epi-Pens.  Boyfriend had to assist.  One of many trials recently.

oh well.

That Queen Bee we saw was nothing.

Still have it in the bag in my broken down car.

truth.

hugs kids

Bros, what in gods name does anyone think they have to gain by bombing a statue?? Shame to see such a great Babylonian symbol destroyed for nothing. Idiots! [:@]

Lion of Babylon Statue Bombed, Destroyed
Eighty-Year-Old Basra Landmark Blown Up by Gunmen This Morning

Basra, Jul 29, (VOI) – Unidentified gunmen blew up the Lion of Babylon statue in central Basra during the early hours of Sunday, eyewitnesses said.
"An explosive charge was planted under the statue, completely destroying it the historical monument in Basra," an eyewitness told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
The statue, one of the historical landmarks in Basra, 590 km south of Baghdad, was built in the 1920s and symbolized the Babylonian civilization.
The Lion of Babylon, large and splendidly carved in basalt, is reminiscent of the legend that the lion was the symbol of the goddess Ishtar, the ancient Assyrian and Babylonian goddess of love, fertility, and war. In the sculpture, the lion's back has marks indicating that it was meant for a precious saddle upon which the goddess Ishtar would stand.

Woman Raped to Save Kidnapped Husband
Then Abandoned by Husband Because of Stain on Honor

BAGHDAD (IRIN) - Mother of three Um Muhammad al-Daraj, 35, recently went through a traumatic ordeal to try to save her husband’s life.

She told IRIN her husband was kidnapped by militants who had accused him of supporting the insurgents. After two days without news of her husband, Ahmed, two people came to her home and ordered her to follow them to meet her husband, who was reportedly being interrogated.

“I didn’t think twice and left my children with my neighbour. I was desperate for any news of Ahmed and they drove me to a distant neighbourhood where my husband was supposedly being held.

“After half an hour’s drive we reached Sadr City and my legs were trembling because I know how dangerous the area is and the guys with me didn’t speak a word.

“They asked me to enter a disgusting-looking house and told me to wait. A rude man came into the room and bluntly told me that I had two choices: have sex with him and get my husband released or return to my home and never see Ahmed again.

“I was shocked and started to cry. I fell to the ground trying to kiss his feet and begged him to release my husband and not to treat me badly.

“The man told me that he would be back in 15 minutes and by that time would want to know my decision. In those minutes I hated my beauty and myself. I know that if I had been an ugly woman this wouldn’t have happened to me, but the life of my husband was in my hands.

“After 15 minutes - I was crying the whole time - the man came back and repeated the question and I didn’t have any option than to accept, in order to save Ahmed’s life, even knowing that after that they might kill us both.

“I had to forget my honour to save my husband’s life. It was the most terrible 20 minutes of my life. I just felt pain and wanted to vomit all the time. In the beginning I tried to refuse but was hit in the face and had to cry in silence, while asking God’s forgiveness.

“After that he told me to put my clothes on and the same two men drove me home, with tears streaming down my cheeks. I couldn’t look at my children because I felt dirty. I didn’t even know if my husband was going to return.

“Later that evening Ahmed appeared on the doorstep with signs of having been hit in the face, and when I went to kiss him he told me that I was dirty and that he was going to divorce me as he had been forced to watch the whole scene and preferred to be killed than see his wife sleeping with another man, even if it was to save his life.

“Two days later he left home and went to his parents’ house and said that soon I would get the divorce papers. Even now I cannot believe that losing my honour to save his life was taken by him as a betrayal.

“Now I’m alone, without a job or husband, with three children to look after. Sometimes death is the best way to end suffering.”

US 'loses track' of Iraq weapons

The US military cannot account for 190,000 AK-47 assault rifles and pistols given to the Iraqi security forces, an official US report says.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) says the Pentagon cannot track about 30% of the weapons distributed in Iraq over the past three years. The Pentagon did not dispute the figures, but said it was reviewing arms deliveries procedures. About $19.2bn has been spent by the US since 2003 on Iraqi security forces. GAO, the investigative arm of the US Congress, said at least $2.8bn of this money was used to buy and deliver weapons and other equipment. Correspondents say it is now feared many of the weapons are being used against US forces on the ground in Iraq.
The Iraqi interior ministry has blamed the Americans for the disappearance of the weapons.

A spokesman, Brigadier General Abd-al-Karim Khalaf, told the BBC his ministry had not been consulted over the distribution. He also said there was no evidence to suggest that insurgents might have got hold of some of the weapons.

Discrepancies
The GAO said weapons distribution was haphazard and rushed and failed to follow established procedures, particularly from 2004 to 2005. During this period, security training was led by Gen David Petraeus, who now commands all US forces in Iraq. The GAO reached the estimate - 111,000 missing AK-47s and 80,000 missing pistols - by comparing the property records of the Multi-National Security Transition Command for Iraq against records maintained by Gen Petraeus of the arms and equipment he ordered. Deputy Assistant Defence Secretary Mark Kimmitt told AFP the Pentagon was "reviewing policies and procedures to ensure US-funded equipment reaches the intended Iraqi security forces under the Iraq program".

Weapons delay
The report comes as a political battle rages in Washington over the progress of the war in Iraq. Gen Petraeus and US Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker are scheduled to report to Congress by mid-September on the success of efforts to halt sectarian violence and return Iraq to viable self-governance.

Meanwhile, at the end of July, the US Defence Department admitted that the US-led coalition in Iraq had failed to deliver nearly two-thirds of the equipment it promised to Iraq's army. The Pentagon said only 14.5m of the nearly 40m items of equipment ordered by the Iraqi army had been provided.

The US military commander in charge of training in Iraq has asked for help in speeding up the transfer of equipment.
Iraq's ambassador to the US said the delays were hindering the fighting capacity of its armed forces.

the DREAMER speaks:

When I clean, really clean (which I don't do too often as get digging too far into everything and becomes overwhelming, boyfriend is far better at this duty than self)I make a HUGE mess, pile all up, then scrub, then reorganize, then job is completed.

Sigh.

The process is NOT fun or clean either, sometimes down and dirty in this quest for reorganization, cleanliness.

Even throw all into some other room just to have one room where I can organize my thoughts.

Sometimes the "bathroom/kitchen" are the only really clean rooms.

R U laughing?

Please please do!!!

in 2003 Iraq was in the top 10 most powerful armies in the world, after being in 4th place 1991.  Will someone explain to me what happened to our airforce (I know some went to Iran)? Our tanks and big guns? our mighty ****n of weapons? losing 190,000 isn't as bad as losing armour and equipments of a whole army.

Zorba dude. Most of the tanks were destroyed by the yanks and the rest were looted by locals after the fall of Baghdad. Most of our air force and civilian planes were kept in Iran, Jordan and Libya since 91. There are still 3 or 4 Iraqi airways planes parked in Queen Alia airport, obviously out of order. The truth is that Saddam's army was finished after 91 but he kept the illusion of being powerful by organizing huge military parades and blowing hot air to please the Arab Nationalists. Most of our weaponry was out of date and lacking spare parts. What we have in this case is a proper order made through the Americans for these weapons which is traceable except after it enters Iraq, or so it would seem. Wouldn't you think that those responsible for this order might have been a bit more careful about where the order ended up?? Its not a few boxes of cigarettes were talking about here. [8|]

YellowSunshine -> RE: COWARDS and SCUM! (8/13/2007 9:35:14 PM)

Arrived home from boyfriends mothers visitation/prior to funeral.  Saw an old friend whom has a niece that just returned from an injury, been assisting in Northern Iraq.  She is returning as soon as able.  48 years old but cares so that is why she is putting her life on the line.  Am calling my old friend for more info and to get the phone no. of this relative as I am interested.

She saw much death, etc.. that we speak about here daily.

The comment that was made was the the US Government is THE Major problem over there, not to be trusted.

I realize most of us on here discuss this and are aware, just surprising to hear it from this particular family.

I do hope that many Iraqi people will realize that many of us here in the US do INDEED care and some actually put their lives on the line for your people.  Also that MANY ARE Christians.

Altho. with people/men that treat their women in such a horrible manner as has been posted, I doubt this will make a difference.

WHERE IS THE LOVE that our CREATOR instilled?  Doesn't the Koran preach to LOVE others?

Hugs

Masha Allah bros. I never met a Yezidi but everyone who has tells me they are a simple peace loving people. I realise that they practice religion in an unusual way and some dumb asses think they are unislamic but isn't it better to talk to them, understand them and try to convince them to convert rather than what happened this morning? God rest their souls.

175 Killed, 200 Wounded in Bombing Wave
Yazidi Sect Towns in Northern Iraq Hit by Suicide Vehicle Bombings, Mortar Fire

Mosul, Aug 14 (VOI)- Scores of civilians were killed or wounded on Tuesday evening in a string of blasts that took place near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, a security source said.

"Two cars rigged with explosives simultaneously detonated in Siba Sheikh Khidr housing compound, west of Mosul, killing 175 civilians and wounding over 200," the source, who asked not to be named, told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI). The source added "the housing compound, the largest in Sinjar district, also came under a mortar attack following the double explosion, leaving scores killed or wounded."

Meanwhile, two more explosions occurred in the nearby Kar Izir area, 35 km south of Sinjar, killing and wounding dozens of people and causing many buildings to collapse, the same source said. The source added "the explosions set people in panic, while ambulances were still rushing the wounded to Sinjar hospital."

A source from Sinjar hospital told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI) "the hospital received scores of the injured and the hospital corridors are now crowded with the wounded."

Sinjar district, 120 km to the northwest of Mosul, is inhabited by the Yazidis, a religious sect whose followers are situated in northern Iraq. Some 350,000 Yazidis are living in villages around Mosul, 405 km north of Baghdad. According to Wikipeadia, Yazidis are primarily ethnic Kurds, and most live near Mosul, Iraq with smaller communities in Armenia (some 40,000 according to 2001 census), Georgia, Iran, Russia (31,273 as per 2002 census), Syria, and Turkey (some 80,000 in 1970; 23,000 in 1985 and 377 people in 2007). They number around 500,000 individuals in total, but estimates vary on their population size, partially due to the Yazidi tradition of secrecy when asked about one's religious beliefs.

they say that the Yezidi's worship the devil, do they really because i know that they gentle people and what from what i heard that some killers took them out from the bus in mousel city and killed them in front of the people in the city this is cruelty and unhuman culture.

Lion of Babylon -> RE: COWARDS and SCUM! (8/15/2007 9:44:05 AM)

They dont worship the devil but they fear him. At least thats how I understood it. Here's Wikipedia's take on it.

In the Yazidi worldview, God created the world, which is now in the care of a Heptad of seven Holy Beings, often known as Angels or heft sirr (the Seven Mysteries). Pre-eminent among these is Melek Taus (Tawûsê Melek in Kurdish), the Peacock Angel, who is equated with Satan or Devil by some Muslims and Christians. According to the Encyclopedia of the Orient, "The reason for the Yazidis reputation of being devil worshipers, is connected to the other name of Melek Taus, Shaytan, the same name as the Koran's for Satan."[2] However, according to the Kurdish linguist Jamal Nebez, the word Taus is most probably derived from the Greek and is related to the words Zeus and Theos, alluding to the meaning of God. Accordingly, Malak Ta'us is God's Angel, and this is how Yezidis themselves see Melek Taus or Taus-e-Malak ([3], page 21).
Yazidis believe that Melek Ta’us is not a source of evil or wickedness. They consider him as the leader of the archangels, not a fallen angel, and therefore also comparable to the Christians' St. Michael, who is likewise considered the leader of the "seven who stand before the Lord" and of all other good angels. Also they say that the source of evil is in the heart and spirit of humans themselves, not in Melek Ta’us. The active forces in their religion are Melek Ta’us and Sheik Adî. The Kitêba Cilwe (Book of Illumination) which claims to be the words of Melek Ta’us, and which presumably represents Yazidi belief, states that he allocates responsibilities, blessings and misfortunes as he sees fit and that it is not for the race of Adam to question him. Sheikh Adî believed that the spirit of Melek Ta’us is the same as his own, perhaps as a re-incarnation. He is believed to have said : "I was present when Adam was living in Paradise, and also when Nemrud threw Abraham in fire. I was present when God said to me: (You are the ruler and Lord on the Earth). God, the compassionate, gave me seven earths and throne of the heaven."
Yazidi accounts of creation differ from that of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. They believe that God first created Melek Ta’us from his own illumination (Ronahî in Kurdish) and the other six archangels were created later on. God ordered Melek Ta’us not to bow to other beings. Then God created the other archangels and ordered them to bring him dust (Ax) from the Earth (Erd) and build the body of Adam. Then God gave life to Adam from his own breath and instructed all archangels to bow to Adam. All archangels obeyed except Melek Ta’us. As God inquired, Malak Ta’us replied, "How can I submit to another being! I am from your illumination while Adam is made of dust." Then God praised him and made him the leader of all angels and his deputy on the Earth. Hence the Yazidis believe that Melek Ta’us is the representative of God on the face of the Earth, and comes down to the Earth on the first Wednesday of Nisan (March/April). Yezidis celebrate this day as the New Year's day. God created Melek Ta’us from his illumination (Ronahî ) on this day. Yazidis argue that the order to bow to Adam was only a test for Melek Ta’us, since if God says something then it happens (Bibe, dibe). In other words, God could have made him submit to Adam, but gave Ta’us the choice as a test. They believe that their respect and praise for Melek Ta’us is a way to acknowledge his majestic and sublime nature. This idea is called "Knowledge of the Sublime" (Zanista Ciwaniyê ). Sheikh Adî has observed the story of Melek Ta’us and believed in him.[4]
One of the key creationism beliefs of Yazidism is that all Yazidis are descendants of Adam rather than Eve.
Yazidis believe that good and evil both exist in the mind and spirit of human beings. It depends on the humans, themselves, which one they choose. In this process, their devotion to Melek Ta’us is essential, since it was he who was given the same choice between good and evil by God, and chose the good.
Yazidis, who have much in common with the followers of Ahl-e Haqq (in western Iran), state that the world created by God was at first a pearl. It remained in this very small and enclosed state for some time (often a magic number such as forty or forty thousand years) before being remade in its current state. During this period the Heptad were called into existence, God made a covenant with them and entrusted the world to them. Besides Melek Ta’us, members of the Heptad (the Seven), who were called into existence by God at the beginning of all things, include Sheikh Adî, his companion Shaikh Hasan, and a group known as the four Mysteries, Shamsadin, Fakhradin, Sajadin and Naserdin. The Yazidi holy books are the Kitêba Cilwe (Book of Revelation) and the Mishefa Reş (Black Book).
Two key and interrelated features of Yazidism are: a) a preoccupation with religious purity and b) a belief in metempsychosis. The first of these is expressed in the system of caste, the food laws, the traditional preferences for living in Yazidi communities, and the variety of taboos governing many aspects of life. The second is crucial; Yazidis traditionally believe that the Seven Holy Beings are periodically reincarnated in human form, called a koasasa.
A belief in the reincarnation of lesser Yazidi souls also exists. Like the Ahl-e Haqq, the Yazidis use the metaphor of a change of garment to describe the process, which they call kiras guhorîn in Kurdish (changing the garment). Alongside this, Yazidi mythology also includes descriptions of heaven and hell, and other traditions incorporating these ideas into a belief-system that includes reincarnation.
