A report sent to me by a Turkumani friend cocerning kurdish treatment of Turkumans.


Iraqi Turkmen Human Rights Research Foundation18 March, 2007 The U.S. authorities are giving their full support to the Kurds who are seeking to control Iraq's oil wealth at any cost in order to establish their so-called 'great Kurdistan'. To realize their goal, the Kurdish militias continuously terrorize the other Iraqi communities in the north of Iraq. The Turkmens who are Iraq's third largest community are facing increasing threats in their region, Turkmeneli. Because they refuse the Kurdish hegemony in their region, they continue to be the victims of intimidations, detentions, kidnappings and assassinations and their cities are raided by the Kurdish militias.

In a series of attacks on Turkmen cities to terrify the inhabitants, two more Turkmen cities have recently been raided by the U.S. supported Kurdish militias.

Daquq

On 4.3.2007, at 4:30 am about twenty masked Kurdish militants belonging to the KDP party, (called Asayish) coming from outside the Kerkuk region entered the Turkmen sub-district of Daquq, 45 Km south of Kerkuk City. These masked Kurds were shooting in the air to scare the people as they broke randomly into several houses.

Taze Khurmatu

At midnight on 25.2.2007, the Kurdish Asayish militants supported by American troops entered the Turkmen city of Taze Khurmatu, located 15 Km south of Kerkuk, where they raided several houses.

The doors were broken, the furniture were scattered and damaged and the children were extremely frightened. Mobile phones were confiscated and money and gold were stolen. The oil tanks were destroyed. Fathers and sons were tied up and brutally beaten and kicked in front of their family. The fathers were threatened and weapons were put against their heads in front of their terrified children.

Several young peaceful Turkmen intellectuals from al-Asriya quarter in Daquq and three other youths from Taze Khurmatu were arrested and were taken to an unknown location. The local police in Daquq was never informed about the raid by the authorities.

It is worth noting that:

No violent incidents had taken place in the neighbourhoods which were raided by the Kurds with the exception of a few licensed weapons, no weapons were found in the raided houses

The men who were taken from Taze Khurmatu were shown the next day on Kerkuk Television which is administered by the Kurds and presented as 'terrorists'

every country with power use weaker countries to further their own ambition. this is true with regret. this is the human sicknes and even thou we are becomming more advanced we still do not learn how to correct this weaknes. not only al qaida but the usa also use weak countrys to get what it wants. it is human nature and we wil always have this problem i think.

and that is the problem with kurds from the biggining they believe that they were innocent before 200 years ago but they are wrong because they know that irbil and sulaimania and dahuk are mesopotamians (iraqi) cities by origin not never was kurdish and the history proves it.

Does everything revolve around the Kurds for you? If I was to tell you the price of cucumbers onions had gone up I'm sure you'll find a way to blame the Kurds.

[:(] I am new to this Forum, joined to better understand my fellow "humans", we all are in this world together and I am so fed up with hatred, murder, quest for money, etc...  I am a female American and hope that I will be welcomed to post here.  Just want some understanding, brotherhood, peace, love which is perhaps far too much to ask for.  I sometimes think those in power are just playing some huge stupid "chess game" with peoples lives, this is WRONG.  They will pay eventually, God will take care of them in the end.  There is justice, may not be on this earth BUT God is real and I know he must be disgusted with the human race. Welcome to our forum, I sincerely hope that you will find our ideas, discussions fights and laughes of benefit to you.

I have many american friends, some from university time many many many moon ago, and some i made over the internet.  Your input will be very welcomed.

One remark someone said to me the other day was that they would like to see Bush & Blair in court answering to charges of
(Crime against humanity).

I do hold them responsible for the lives of 1/2 million people.

[sm=smiley35.gif]My phones, computer have both had issues for awhile,  perhaps due to my posts similar to this, internet reading/seach habits, books I read/order, friends I have all over the world, etc..  However, there is NO WAY I am going to stop because America is a free country, or is supposed to be! 

So many people do NOT want to know the FACTS and prefer to gamble, dabble in porn., watch reality tv, believe all they read in the newspapers, government B.S. prefer to be babies and be fed baby food [sm=smiley11.gif]and I find if I try to speak FACTS they get downright angry or assume I am a fruit loop.  So Very Frustrating!!!

The Patriot Act, Homeland Security, etc., all are BIG trouble, we are losing our rights daily and all sit back, eat their Big Macs, watch football, gamble, drink beer and so on, oblivious to what is REALLY going on.  I do NOT believe that America is the only country going through this, I strongly suspect many countries have hierarcy similar that is wanting to keep their populations under control and downright stupid so that eventually we ALL have no "freedom". 

I am a Christian and do have a strong faith.  However, I do NOT hate, judge others with different beliefs.  Do feel/KNOW that there is indeed a "Higher Power" and that prayer is a powerful tool!  Since I could never kill, hurt another human at this point all I can do is try to enlighten others and PRAY, we ALL NEED to pray folks, you my fellow brothers/sisters in Iraq as well.

That is why I joined this website.  Communication.  I am an American that does CARE.  I HATE this war, i HATE all wars.  I Get so Blasted ANGRY at those in power that sit back on their fat rich bottoms and appear to play chess with peoples lives.  They will pay, if not in this life then the next, or when they must face their maker...they WILL have to answer to a Higher Authority on their actions and the lives they ARE responsible for PERIOD![sm=smiley7.gif]

Sigh...time to get busy here, more later.

At this point I seriously wonder if it makes a difference if the Demo. or Repubs. are in power.  Wondering if there is an authority higher up that really controls both.  Info wars dot com has information about a place that these folks frequent in California, BOTH the Demos/Repubs a club of sorts.  More or less a "brotherhood", makes you wonder, does it not?

I am going to assist Barack Obama's campaign at least initially because there is NO WAY that I want Hillary Clinton in power, the American people appear to be so stupid they would vote this troublemaker in office.  I do NOT think he has or ever has had anything to do with the "brotherhood" mentioned above.  My final vote is not yet decided, short term tho. NO WAY should Hillary be on the ballot!

hello yellow. first welcome to iraq4u forum. i am from finland but lived in iraq with my parents when i was young. it is a very butifull country and people not like u c on the tv. i think clinton will win this electon because she has more power and money pushing her campagn. no body now who obama is because he is very young and has no enough experince in america politic. of course we dont forget he is black and usa dont want black president. i am surprise because i thought u will be happy to have a woman president. why u hate clinto so muich?

[8|] I don't hate Hillary Clinton.  I dislike her, strongly for some things she stands for.  This is not a word for word quote, however, it is close, several years back she made a statement that decisions should be made by the school systems and those in "authority" regarding children, NOT by the parents, THAT is TROUBLE PERIOD!!!  I also very much dislike the extreme liberalism she represents. Her husband voted/ok'd 3rd trimester abortions... that is MURDER.

When Bill Clinton was in office, it was disgusting, his sexual exploits in detail all over the news, kids were aware of it, on the front pages of papers, etc..  WRONG!!!  Made me physically ill.  No morals, this country (as many) is going downhill with morals, honesy, etc..  He also lied under oath.  WHAT MESSAGE DOES THIS PORTRAY TO OUR CHILDREN?

Freedom is a fallacy. There is no one that is completely free. There are only those that enjoy more surface freedom than others. Governments feed the people with what they want them to hear. So much for democracy!

Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, Atheist, Hindu, Sikh, all are welcome as far as I'm concerned. As long as the discussions are political rather than religious. Religion has no place in politics.

Haram. Not only did people die in this blast but Baghdad lost one of its oldest landmarks. I hope they can fix the bridge. The lost of Sarafiya will lead to even more traffic chaos in Baghdad.

A truck bomb explosion on a bridge in Baghdad has killed at least eight people and sent several cars toppling into the River Tigris below.
 
The rush-hour blast partially destroyed the Sarafiya Bridge by collapsing one of its girders.
Several people have been hurt in the blast and police are looking for survivors in the river waters.
US and Iraqi troops launched a security sweep in Baghdad two months ago in an effort to reduce sectarian violence.

i heard 2day that iraqi ministry of houseing will builb the bridge like it was before. they r now taking all the plans for the bridge and will deside if they can fix some of the spans or they need to bild new ones. this will take lot of time but i think this is worth it. i remember driving over the bridge many times with my father grhs. it was a big one in those days even for some european countryies. it will b a good thing if they can make it 2 look like before than 2 bild a new bridge. what do every one think?

I heard a rumor that Maliki stated on TV that he will insure the bridge is restored to its former glory in 4 months (can anyone confirm this?). Theres no way they could restore the Bridge to its original state in 4 months. More like 14 months. They'll need to erect a temporary steel bridge adjacent to the Sarafiya in order for traffic to flow while they work on the main structure. The original beams and spans were designed in the 1920's and the company that manufactured them closed down decades ago. This would mean they would have to commission engineering consultants to copy the original design and if they don't have the original maps this isn't going to be easy. They'll also have to check the supports to see if they were damaged in the blast as well as calculate river speed and level. To make a statement saying the bridge will be restored in 4 months is extremely naive. His advisors should be shot.
