In the name of Allah, the most compasionate and merciful

Assalamu alykum brothers and sisters,
Most of you might not know me because am new here but I signed up here just because I read what everyone was saying and how everyone is miserable about whatever is happening in Iraq and in the Middleeast as a whole. And most of us ask ourselves Why is this happening to us even though we are muslims? Well yes its true we are muslims but most of us these days have chosen life over Allah and our precious Islam. Most of the muslims these days don't turn to Allah and ask for his help and forgivness. You see some people that prefere to ask for help from Allah's creatures rather than Allah. Not naming anyone but I hope my point is understood. In the Holy Quran Allah mentions that whenever a country or nation turns away from Allah, Allah then shows them a kind of fear and hunger and lack of security, and that is what is going on in Iraq and in the Middleast as a whole. So why don't we ask ourselves what are we doing wrong and fix it, and ask Allah for forgivness. If our faith in Allah is srtong, then Allah will give us back our dignity and our land and strength. Its true that Iraqis are real men...and the strongest of men...but without Allah they can't do a thing. And as Allah says in his holy book(Allah will not change whats in people unless they change whatever is in themselves.) So if we want our security and land back let us all go seek the right path and find the way to Allah.
Wasalamo alekum

Al Salamualaikum Zeynab
I have to disagree with your post. The main problem with Iraq stems from the fact that Religion and politics are a deadly, explosive mixture. Religion becomes more important than individual rights and political power provides belief enforcement. History is overflowing with examples of over zealous religious beliefs becoming the law of the land because that person or party had the power to enforce those beliefs. The great majority of our wars have had religious beliefs veiled within their cause. The power of religious zeal to cause normally rational humans to act irrational is something that has been prevalent throughout history and is especially relevant to present day Iraq.

The value of individual rights and individual thinking have been put aside and fanatics and Muslim zealots are trying to impose their religious beliefs and so far their will has had a disastrous effect on a country that needs to rebuild itself both spiritually and economically. Most religious leaders are only fair minded within their own belief system. They are convinced of their correctness and see it as necessary to force their beliefs on others – this ultimately leads to dictatorship which is what Iraqis have lived under and tried to escape from for all these years.

Whether you admit it or not mixing religion and politics will always promote a narrow view of life while promoting absolute concepts. If one religious belief controlled our government and enforced our laws, what we see now as intolerance would become active discrimination, and even torture. While religion has its place, governing should not be one of them. Religion usually does not allow the freedom of disagreement that politics does. One voice becomes law and God’s voice on Earth. Mix that supposedly divine power with political power and you have disaster. If Iraq is to have any chance it must constantly guard against the merger of religion and state. It must strive to maintain opposing ideas. We cannot allow our government to even appear to favor one religious belief above another. All constitutions should favor no religion or even mention God. Religious beliefs are private, individual choices and should not be allowed to interfere with modern, complex political and economical decisions. With respect, I feel your comments are somewhat naïve, lazy and one dimensional. You appear to have convinced yourself that the only path to peace in Iraq is through strict religious doctrines. You are mistaken. This is not happening to us only because we are Muslims, far from it. This is happening because we control an inordinately large portion of the world’s oil reserves and did not have the sense to use it to our advantage. Instead of utalising our natural resources to build our country economically, we chose, or were tricked into believing we could challenge the world’s powers militarily. I don’t know if you are Iraqi or have ever lived in Iraq but judging from your comments I would doubt it.

Well, first of all I am Iraqi...from Nasriah And Second of all I think you misunderstood my point. What I was trying to say is that we practice religion the right way and not kill a person for their ethnicity or belief. I think that if a person is practicing the right religion and KEEPING it to them self than there wouldn't be any problems. I didn't mention religion as being part of politics but that Allah's name stays above all...which is grace to us as muslims and other religions. As you know or should know that all religions no matter what believe in the same God, except that there are different ways of worship and belief that makes them different. So if we use our religion wisely and not force it on anyone and everyone else does the same we would live in peace and have a peaceful country.  Whats making the people of Iraq act like that towards other religions is the misunderstanding of thier own religion.

I agree with you sister Zeynap Hassan, some how the none believers would like to ridicule the believers in every way but not their none believers despite the crimes of the latter and despite the stupidity of not just the leaders of those who are called the modern world but their entire nations. Who on earth have  killed 100 of millions of people over 100s of years apart from those westerners who never had a religion. Then they and their lovers hit us with these largely false talks of religions are the reason behind our miseries. The Eastern Europeans have believed them and look where they have ended; nothing more than slaves. 600 thousands of them now working for the british and even their army are helping in the occupation of our country. I do not know why the west did not transfer their modernity to their newly found friends?

The source of legislation in the west is the minds of the ruling elite where destroying entire nations are called liberation. Even on smaller scale they kill us and blame it on our sectarian and ethnic reasons. I am not saying we are perfect but if anybody suffer from inferiority go and give pleasure your masters somewhere else. May Allah Damn those who killed the 35 police recruits and the other innocent Iraqi people today. Those have not committed any crime yet why kill them? May Allah bless those who killed the 3 and 4 american and british occupiers.

In short stupidity and treason is not limited to the religious or eastern people. In fact there is no challenge in the west that is why they have been made to serve the devil by Freemasons and Jewish representatives. The only challenge left to them after destroying the belief systems of eastern Europe is mainly the Muslims.

Sister, to find the answer for your question you have to ask yourself whether, Iraqi’s really love their country and where is the line of allegiance lies for them. Is their loyalty for the green colour of the US Dollar, Visas to foreign countries or for their tribes or religious sects or indeed for their homeland and country? Iraqi’s with exception of the migrant population of them, have extreme difficulty in understanding the true value of having a homeland. They try to show that they love their country and each one of them is a nationalist by birth, but the truth is something else.  They are used to the rule of minority and the minority tyranny gives itself the right to screw up the entire country, and the country and its people are God given to the minority, and they have the right to do what ever they like with this nation as we see on daily news broadcasts from Iraq.  Iraqi’s always seem to talk the talk but they never ever walk the walk. Ironically any true voice with respect to Iraq will be silenced by Iraqi’s themselves with extreme measures in Iraq, and in a much simpler measures outside, they will tag you and brand you in a way that you will find it hard to continue with your normal living ((character assassination)) .   Sister Saddam did not rule Iraq by himself only he had Iraqi’s who killed, jailed, raped etc. who stood side by side with the dictator and shared his filthy ideology and this ideology can be seen spoken and running to this day from some minority figures (( Al Shi3aa hom Safaween wa Iranieen wa hom laeso be 3eraqeen-  does this sounds familiar, I bet it does )). If you say that the majority were scared of the tyranny then I will say ((Al Saket 3n al haq shaytanon a7*raess)) and there are decent and honourable people who said No to the dictator and there names will remain alive to eternity.   Every body in this world saw were was Saddam when he arrested by the American forces and I bet the shame of that day will hunt the minority and every deformed back warded supporter of Saddam in Iraq and all over the world for generations to come. Sister the question which crossed all minds in Iraq at the night of the fall was : why we did not get rid of this cowered long before that day, why Iraqi’s allowed such filthy character and his mob to enslave and destroy our lives??  Sister do you remember the long eight years of war against Iran and what consequences did it have on Iraq, do you remember the war against Kuwait and what it did to Iraq and also the years of oppression in Iraq which left this nation torn between Under arrest, Escaped the country, Executed, etc. with the remaining herd laughing and applauding the dictator. I think everybody in this globalised world saw who did loot the Iraqi Museum and who did burn and destroy the Iraqi national archive and …….!!!!!! The answer is the (majority) is done by Iraqi’s. Sister there are ample of examples which can be seen all over the history of our beloved country.  Hence I don’t think that this nation will ever be able to stand by itself, at least not as an independent nation and as an Iraqi by origin and birth, currently I see no body in the Iraqi political arena as a true representer for me at least, and some times I really think and question myself over and over, was Iraq truly the cradle of Civilisations at least civilisations were built by civilised people, from what I see on TV, that statement makes me wonder, if we haven’t got mercy on each other as Iraqi’s how do we want God to have mercy on us. These are unfortunately Iraq’s bitter facts in the current times, past and maybe for a foreseeable future. From what I get in your article I see that you are a practicing Muslim hence you have to agree with (La Yo3*aero allah  ma be qomen 7ata yogaero ma be anfosehem). Regards Lucifer

LUCIFER iraq is the (cradle of all human civilizations of the world) and also the iraqs never hated each if you the of iraq before 1400 years ago you will that the most of the rulers of iraq were outside of iraq and they tried to destroy iraq accept of course at the of the first islam iraq it was fantstic and at the time of abbaside perioed was marvelous and nice but many bad rulers in iraq came from outside and ruled iraq in a bad way and the iraqis suferred a lot at that because they know that iraq are clever people and that is a fact, hence that fact that untill now many people from that time they want destroy iraq again for revenge from the past long time to make their slaves again that is the mesopotamians always try to make empires to protect themselves from the bad because simply the iraqs want to live free to their homeland and GOD BLESS YOU AND THE MESOPOTAMIAN PEOPLE OF IRAQ.
