kake i do not know you but you have serious mental problems am a kurd and i will always be a kurd if you want to talk to americans and jews justz go into the street and find a us-patrol you can argue about the policy of the western amd israeli nations with them but no with me , because i am a kurd from iraq jaffer , just go to arbil or slemani see how empty it is now , i mean it is so empty that they have built over 50.000 new houses slemani alone in the last three yeras and 200.000 new houses slemani had about 300.000 in 1991 , today , they say it is over a million
Iraq is a joint Arab-Kurdish country, a Kurd likewise an Arab, could be elected as president or as foreign minister. Those who reject this clear right of Kurdish people and deny the real identity of the country are neo-Baathists who are against justice, equality, democracy, and federalism.
The Kingdom of Iraq was established in 1921 with its present borders (due to desire of British empire) on wrong foundations such the compulsory annexing of South Kurdistan to Iraq, and upon divisive principles like privileging some groups of Arab Sunni minority and marginalizing the role of the Shiite’s majority population in southern Iraq.
Furthermore, the provocative ideas of “provisional constitutions” of the various Iraqi regimes came to the power in the “Republican era” through military coup d’états aggravated the state.
Finally, racial politics of repressive measures took by the totalitarian Baath regime particularly against the Kurds and Shiites in Iraq, and its aggressive politics against the neighbouring countries resulted destructive regional wars and took the Iraq to a tragic situation.
The main cause of distorting the reality of the identity of Iraq’s state was the racist attitude of the “Arab nationalist groups” who were in power during the royal and republican reign. They claimed and are still claiming that the whole Iraqi population including the Kurds are a part of the “Arab nation”, and they consider the whole land of Iraq including South Kurdistan as a part of the “Arab homeland” or as a part of the Arab national territory. It should be kept in mind that these Arab nationalists are quite aware of the reality that “Iraqi Kurdistan” is a part of Kurdistan which is divided among Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Syria and that the Kurds in Iraq are part of the Kurdish nation separated by borders, mines, and conventions among these states and within their framework.
Regarding the roots of the real Iraqi identity, there are three axiomatic facts: First: Iraq consists of Arab Iraq and South Kurdistan. This self-evident fact was deduced by the Fact-Finding Committee sent by the League of Nations in 1925 to the “Wilayet” of Mosul, where South Kurdistan constitute the major part of it. The committee mentioned in its report that the present Iraq comprises the Arab Iraq (Arabic part of Iraq), Jazirah, and Kurdistan and that the northern borders of the Arabic part of Iraq does not go beyond the line which extend from Hit on the Euphrates, Tikrit on the Tigris, until chain of Hamrain mountains (Fadhil Hussain, The Mosul Problem / Arabic, 1977:78). The great historian Abu Bakr al-Khwarizmi also confirmed this issue 1000 years ago (903 – 1002) in the book “Al-Rasa’il” (p.45-46). This fact confirms that Iraq is not merely an Arab or Kurdish country (state); rather, it is a joint Arab-Kurdish country, inhabited also by many other national minorities Chaldeans, Turkmen, Assyrians, Syrians, and Armenians in addition to the Arabs and the Kurds. These minorities have rights and duties similar to those of the Arabs and Kurds. There are also many religions and sects in Iraq. Islam, Christianity, Ezdiis (Yazidis), Sabeans, Yarsan, Alawites, and Judaism. All of these religions and sects have their own rights, which must be respected and acknowledged constitutionally and practically.
The core of the second fact: is that the Arabs of Iraq are part of the divided Arab nation, and the Kurds of Iraq are part of the divided Kurdish nation. Considering the Kurds and other national minorities in Iraq as a part of the Arab nation is simply not true. Nationalistic pride and ignoring others is a detestable racial practice. Not only because it does not harmonize with most basic human rights, but also because it contradicts Islamic shari'a. God created us as peoples and nations to get to know each other, to acknowledge each other, and to cooperate with each other, and not to prefer one nation to dominate others and impose its national identity upon the others, as it is the case in Turkey and Syria. A Kurd or an Arab in Turkey is considered as a Turkish citizen; Kurds or Assyrians in Syria are considered as Syrian Arab citizens and so is fixed in their identity cards. This nationalistic racism contradicts the principles of democracy and civilization, about which the secular regime in Turkey brags. Moreover, it contradicts the concepts of socialism and progressiveness, which the Baath regime in Syria claims to adopt. The term nation in its modern definition is derived from the French word “nation”, is linked dialectically with the process of state-building in its modern meaning. It has only two meanings in the political science or in the political dictionary since the 19th century: The first meaning is directly linked to the official entity of people living together within the framework of one country, that is the people of a specific country which has sovereignty and approved international borders regardless of number of ethnic groups, religions, and sects. For example, we say the American nation, the Canadian nation, the Swiss nation, the Indian nation, the Chinese nation, the Egyptian nation, etc. For this reason citizenship called in English “nationality” and in German “Nationalitaet”. The second meaning is linked to the joint historical origin of every people or rather to their joint language and culture. In this regard, we say the Persian nation, the Turkish nation, the Arab nation, the Kurdish nation, etc. Therefore, if the Arabs in Iraq are part of the Arab nation due to the linguistics or cultural denotation, then the Kurds according to the same reason, certainly are part of the Kurdish nation.
The third fact: affirms that a common country or a common religion, or a common sect, or the size of any one national group in every country does not cancel the identity, history, and the culture of the other national groups. It also does not justify putting all of them in the melting pot of the larger national group or changing their national identity. Otherwise, the number of peoples would be equal to the number of religions or of great peoples only. Otherwise for example, all the Swiss people would become German, and thus Switzerland would be considered as a German country, because the population density of German national there would be more than 65% . However, because the Swiss system is federal and democratic the identity of the other national groups: the French (18%) and the Italian (10%) are equally acknowledged exactly as the German national identity. Switzerland is so considered a German-French-Italian country. In this way, the true identity of Switzerland is recognized. None of the German intellectuals or scientific researchers will argue about the roots of this realistic identity. None of them will claim that all of Switzerland or all the Swiss people are German although the majority of its population is German.
In any case ,as far as Kurdistan remains as a part of an federal Iraqi state, Iraq is a joint Arab-Kurdish country, and a Kurd has the right to be elected, just like an Arab, as President or as foreign minister. Those who deny this clear right for the Kurdish people in Iraq are definitely “neo-Baathists” and they are practically against the unity of Iraq, then they are against peace, democracy, and federalism.
Its already three years since the downfall of the totalitarian racist Baath regime on 9 April 2003, the persons who were suppressed or persecuted in Iraq in the previous era are trying - under very difficult internal circumstances and obvious external contention - to build the Iraq of the future, a new Iraq. They are doing this on the basis of voluntary union, parliamentary democracy, and civilized dialogue among all the ethnic groups and segments of the society, based on a permanent constitution, approved by 80% of the people of Iraq. In order to achieve justice and equality so that peace and progress will be guaranteed to all.

ariannationkurdistan? Interesting tagline. Smacks of Naziesm. You are either very naive or simply trying to be provocative. Why don't you just tell the truth? The kurds have no interest in what happens south of their border and never have. Iraq means nothing to them and their refusing to fly the Iraqi flag is ample proof of this. I have many kurdish friends living in Baghdad who are ashamed of what took place during and after the elections. The sight of all the cars driving round the cities of Arbil, Sulaymania and Duhok waving kurdish flags (not both Iraq and kurdish flags) was a very clear indication of how much they really care about Iraq. Instead of taking a leading role in bringing the Iraqi people together and securing their position as good will embassadors they chose to show the world just how self serving they really are. Despite enjoying many freedoms since 1991, Iraqi Kurdistan is still run by 2 dictators who are milking the country for all their worth. Nobody can do business in the North unless they are willing to share their hard earned profits with the Barazani's and Talabani's. These two have set up cover companies that have a piece of everything that goes through the North. This is what Saddam used to do and everyone was up in arms about it.
So Mr. ariannationkurdistan, drop the silly nickname and get to grips with reality otherwise it will bite you in the a**. If you realy care about Iraq then stop taking so much pleasure in its peoples misery. Shame on you! You are a disgrace to your people.
As a young Sunni Muslim that was born in Baghdad, I have very distinct views: We commonly hear the term “Iraqi”, but really what does this term encompass? If we look at history, what we know today as the borders of Iraq are not even a century old. In fact, the borders are not old at all, while the region hosts the oldest civilization in the world. The first main point is that we should not completely identify within man-made borders made by Western countries generations ago. When we die, God does not ask whether we were born Iraqi’s, Saudi’s, or any other regional entity. God asks if we lived a good life, especially as a Muslim, and if we did good for the world and for the less fortunate. We must address ourselves entirely by our faith first, then we can address ourselves from the country we come from; however, we are not allowed to supersede birth place to religious belief.
I am a proud Iraqi in every form. I convey that to the population I live in and through the speeches I give. We should not fall into this motto that separates us in many ways. As for the comment above with the Jewish and Christian population within Iraq, there is still somewhat of a population in each, but the reality is that anyone that had the opportunity to get out of Iraq the last two generations did. While Saddam could be attributed to this, the reality is that everyone tried to get out at some point or another. In addition, I would like to remind my Iraqi brothers and sisters that every type of person of any faith and culture suffered under Saddam. While it’s true that specific people, such as the Kurdish population, have suffered more the reality is that everyone has suffered under the old government. Many of the comments above put down the Kurdish population. While I don’t agree with many aspects of the regional government in the area, as with all parts of Iraq, one of the most prized Muslims in history was a Kurdish Muslim, Salah-Aldeen. We can’t idolize a certain individual and on the other hand put his people down.
Let’s not try to find things that divide us or are different between the people of Iraq. Truly, the majority of Iraq has the same foundation of faith. While we should be using this factor as a commonality to bring us together for a better future, as a society, we keep on distancing the divide through differences. If we become one UNITED people, we undoubtedly would not need anyone else i.e. Arab countries or Western entities Let this serve as our first lesson. There are wrongs with all types of people inside and outside of Iraq; however, we must go beyond this because our cultural heritage is the oldest in the world. Let us have decency when we speak about the people of Iraq and use our words to forward and not divide.
Much Appreciation- Saad M.

ariannationkurdistan You are a Jew and unfortunately what you share with most Kurds is the at least dislike and in most circumstances the hate to Iraq, the Arab and Islam. As far as the housing projects in the North of Iraq, I wish it is true but can you explain why most of the Kurds who fled the two puppets are still living abroad? They all are trying their best to gain British and other western passports? The Emirate will in 2010 finish building accommodations for 10 million people, what do you think they are building it to the expanding 250 thousand Emirate? One million will be British, in case you do not know. Perhaps you will tell us of how many Jews are already there? Even Senator Murtha when talking of quitting Iraq he said we will move our troops to the North and to Kuwait, in order to support the government there. So Kurds carry on building to your anglosaxons/jewish masters. You only like to live under their control as your recent history has clearly shown. But Allah exist and in the name of the Great Allah we will teach you and every traitor a lesson will be fixed in your brains and in every traitor for generations to come. Karkuk population was swelled by 700 thousand during the fake elections and now Sulymania population has increased to one million, what are you rats? By the way it seems your eternal capital did not move to Karkuk, I do not what had happened to your long bulls***s.
Margaret Thatcher when asked in 1991 about why all of this destruction of Iraq said we will make of them a lesson to anybody who dares to challenge our rule. But with our blood we will teach your masters never again to think of stepping in other people’s country. I wonder if your Kurdish political Science lecturer since he has chose to mention Muslim Historian to prove that AL-Mousel had a problem, I wonder where Democracy Federalism came from? Further where has he got science in politics from? Does he means the science of weaponry which made ignorant and rats and blood suckers swim in the blood of the world and claiming that they are the civilized and the rest are nothing? Is not that what made rats who supported the occupation pretending to be the rulers of Iraq now? What science is he talking about? Free people who freed their country and their resources albeit in brutal ways from the foreign occupiers are in prison and the brain less cowards who have wasted the country and its resources are our honourable leaders? The cowards of the Iraqi army who did not fight and have no intention of fighting later are our army and those who fought and those who have lost their lives are traitors/Saddamis/Baathists. Further those who always run and hide in the mountains are freedom fighters and those who defended the country are not. Where on earth not more 15% of the population want to impose its will on the rest? Where is the science in believing a situation which was made by treason to their fellow citizens and slavery to those who do not care about their own mothers are going to continue to exist apart from with the support of those ****s and prostitutes? It seems this is the nature of your majority, so might as well go back to where you came from in Central Asia and start worshiping what ever you were worshiping as you are more or less there. Neither Iraq is your country nor Islam is your religion. Iraq will remain one, with one flag and one capital and minorities will exist in it and Iraq will remain Arabic and Islamic.
The current imposition of AlTalibane, Zebare, Salah ..etc of the Kurdish traitors (together with the rest of the traitors) on Iraq shows beyond any doubt the false notion that the Iraqi nation was ever been a racist nation. That does not mean we the Arab or anybody else are not proud to be Arab. Further that does not mean we must not mention our heritage in order not to upset other who has mainly mountains and their illegitimate friendships to be proud about. No Kurd or any other secular party can criticizes the Ba’ath or the neo Ba’ath and they are first secular and then traitors. At least the Ba’athist are not traitors. This is why your illegitimate friends have used you and are using you to destroy the honourables of Iraq. But make no mistake about Azad Othman criminals will pay for their crimes. It is your problems to fool yourselves but not we will not allow you to fool others and waste them and us. You are all living like slaves in the west, while pretending to be the freedom fighters of the world. Rest assured your role will be nullified shortly. Karkuk has not been given to you, so go and have your state now, of course outside Iraq. Is this is why you are Iraqis now? After killing 300 Iraqi engineer and technicians from the ministry of Oil, the Turkish and Belgium oil company are going to steal 40% of it. Do you know what Islam says about that or what AlBa’ath has done to our (Iraqi) oil resources? Politicall Science or Chaqa Sheber?
While it is true your newly found friends the British has drawn the borders of Iraq and giving Kuwait away to the traitors AlSubah Family but Iraq was a Waliay (province) of the Othman Empire and as always it consisted of Waliat AlBasrah, Baghdad and AlMousel. I do not know of any massive migration to or from the mountains of Northen Iraq then. People resisted this division and tried to return the Islamic Khilapha like Shake Mahmood. After that resistance against the British occupation has started and continued until now a days. Of course you do not expect those who are swinging or sitting in the mountains to draft constitutions and run the Republic of Iraq or any country. Surely as you can see the level of honesty, nationality, religious, awareness, cleverness, strength, strength of the will, strength of thinking do differ from one person to the other, so surely those liberators are our rulers. This is why you will find the current traitors will leave once they realize their masters are fed up of oppressing Iraq? Surely those do not qualify to rule regardless of their western stamps of their certificates and even all over their bodies.
I do not know how the Ba’ath is described by a repressive totalitarian regime and in addition to what I have explained about what the small minority wants to impose on the majority is not totalitarian. I do not know how the attempts of his masters the capitalists or the communists are not. I do not know how the slaughter of 1991 and the sanctions and the current occupation of Iraq and Palestine Afghanistan are not? I do not what the exporting of the revolution of Imam Khomanie means if not repressive? I do not know how the participation of the Iranian in the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan is not repressive? I do not know how the revolt of 1991 is not repressive and the counter attack is? Science means you deal with issues with the same measure. This is what differentiate science from art subjects. In fact even the latter has its own rules like قواعد اللغه العربيه apart from the pick and chose law, what is the author is using for his political science? While it is true Iraq has been weakened by the war with Iran but why only blame Iraq? Shut AlArab is still occupied by the Iranians. If our neighbors are fantastic why apart from Syria every one want to see us down?
In his article the Kurdish Author and his science sinks further by introducing further distortion. Iraq unlike Syria never has been called العربيه العراقيه الجمهوريه but it is and will always be called الجمهوريه العراقيه And do not dream of anything else. This is in recognition to its Arabic majority and the minorities like the Kurds, Turkman, I do not know who else. Never the less because of the massive majority of the Arab in Iraq, Iraq is an Arabic country and part of the Arabic Homeland. Within Iraq there is no differentiation between anybody; if all of the Kurds move to the South or to Baghdad or to the West nobody will object despite the fact if the reverse happens the will try to stop it. I do not know who heard of Kurdstan apart from recently some 100 years or so and due to a trick by the Turks. Contrast that with the oldest history in the world of Iraq. As has been explained before that Dyar Baker was an Assyrian city so the northern borders of Iraq at least stretches north of that city. By the way there was no Turky but there was Anotholia and again as we have explained before, it is the homo Ataturk who finaly destroyed the Islamic Khilafa. In short there was never been a Kurdstan or Arbistan but there was Iraq and there was Syria ….etc. I think this will answer the claim of Kurdstan used in his first axiom. His second axiom is worst because while Turkey refers to the Turkish Ethnicity. Iraq refers to the land of Iraq and is the nationality of the people who lives on it. Nothing demonstrate this purity like the criminal acts of the occupiers by imposing the no fly zones and the sanctions on the Arab. This forced separation augmented by the total treason of the Beshmurga has created a state of divide and conquer even before the invasion. It is only after these deliberately calculated steps by the traitorous Kurdish leaderships a sense of reduced Iraqi feeling among the Kurds has been established. To conclude Migrants who do not like to be called Iraq or behave in honesty towards their country, might as well leave. You will be treated as a second class citizen until you leave to where you come from or until your departure to Turkey as they are like you not from our area. Arab and Assyrians, Babylonians ..etc are Semites or at least primarily Semites. Further you can see how do we feel against the jews due to their bad deeds who are Semites as well. So you should bag up and go go, this area is not yours and it is not Turkish. While there is Kurdish nation but you can have your own nationhood in only these two places (Turkey or Central Asia). I can understand minorities will not be blessed no matter how well they are treated but upsetting them is better than upsetting the majority. You can not just move to an area and declare it yours in reality this is nothing less than occupation. The third axiom is a false one as well because nobody asked you to become Arab, you are called Kurds of Iraq and we are Arab of Iraq. You and the rest have your own news papers, activities ..etc but when you start plotting against the Iraqi state whether you are in Iraq, Germany … your only way up is hanging.
While anybody can nominate himself/herself to be in any prominent position provided he satisfies certain conditions to do with his faithfulness to the country and his morality, religion ..etc ethnicity does not enter into it. No for example an atheist (like Zeebare, Barhim Salah)will be in any position in the government, like wise no traitor like any of those who approve and cooperated with the invaders will rule Iraq. You can have your western political science parameters as a matter of exercise in western tribal way of living but not to rule us. We have our own Islamic religion and the other religions, heritages and our real Iraqi circumstances. These combined to form the bases for choosing our leaders. Therefore you can have your federalism, democracy at most in your mind but in Iraq we will teach you how Iraq was and will remain to be the same independent and one country. The Ba’athists and what you call the neo Ba’athists will not be touched by the best of your Kurdish slave parties.
Ever since the occupation of Iraq and the fail of Baghdad AlRashed on the 9th of April 2003, the nationalist and Islamic forces of despite the bad deeds of the last government of Independent Iraq and the losses incurred by the traitors and their British/American/Jewish/Iranian masters have swore by the name of Allah to the Iraqi and the Arab and the Muslim people that no matter how difficult our way is we will spend everything and we will do everything in our capability to liberate our country. We will try our best to avoid the mistakes of the past but that does not mean we will not treat severely anybody who worked towards and with the occupation of our beloved country. We will raise the flag of Iraq all over Iraq and we will celibate the return of our nationalist and Islamic government. It is clear from the past with few exceptions that nobody but the Arab can lead the Islamic World. The Challenge is open to anybody to prove us wrong. full respect to our Christians and Sibians.

Ok Harry but it was not my poem. can you post a poll to see who cried and who did not after reading that fantastic poem?? I did.
I do not suppose the criminals who conspired and continue to conspire against Iraq care. Just look at this news item of yet another western company have been given "rights" by the Kurdish traitors to steal Iraqs oil. Just a reminder around 300 oil workers have been killed after the invasion among them around 60 oil engineer. We used to produce around 2 million barrel of oil per day before the invasion by our national company and our resources are mine. Look at what those thugs and small minded people are doing. Our oil ministry is being run by an A'ajame who tried his best for the invasion of our country to occur. Another liar who told the americans what they wanted to hear of our wmd, now a minister. Those are the criminals who always hated Iraq and now in the top posts. Still we all know they will not be there had the occupation to end. The aim of the armed resistance must be to not waste its effort after small targets, they must be very carefull in order not to give our enemy any chance in extending their occupation. The american people because they are niave and ignorant must not be given any comfort that the occupation has done something good to Iraq. The increased numbers of the killed Iraqis gives Bush and his western media a chance to pump up the claim of look what they are doing to themselves, hence we must stay. Bush already defends the unity of Iraq!!! Everybody talks about the sectarain death squads, but nobody talks about the foreign ones. Me and others have tried to write something about these criminal activities in yahoo discussion form but all get removed after few hours or not get published while even writings accusing us of being animals are still there. I wonder whether any Kurd is receiving any better treatment inside or outside Iraq by those animals? how long you can continue cheating yourselves?
Harry I could not upload or past this poem in IRAQI PEOM SECTION, so if you want please transfer it to there. The message to those who dreams of changing our Arabic character, your day will come, do you understand Khurda? Which of one of your languages not to say which one of you can produce something like the following poem? When we will liberate Iraq the poet will not hide his name. The lucky ones of you will practise his western life in the west and not in Iraq. You will live in shame if you understand it and then you will hide your name.
