The Iraqi Music Restoration and Preservation Project (IMRPP)

Since 1997, Iraq4u.com made available to millions of its visitors a rare collection of Real Audio clips that have put a smile and a tear on the faces of many of its visitors. As we grow older away from our homeland, the audiotapes that carry such music and the memories associated with these songs grow with us. The quality of such songs eventually deteriates further and we have no other way of restoring it again.

Therefore, in a genuine effort, Iraq4u.com feels that it's responsible for preserving such music from becoming extinct. For that, Iraq4u.com launched the Iraqi Music Restoration and Preservation Project (IMRPP) to collect these old songs, re-master them digitally in Surround Sound, removing the imperfections and noises from the original audiocassettes. After that process, the songs are professionally packaged and published on an Audio CD so that you can enjoy these songs once again, with much better quality and for many years to come. With this effort, we promote the work that has been done by the icons of the Iraqi song and we encourage future singers to never ignore their ancestors but to add to their work.

The price tag on these CD's is far less than the time that it takes to clean up these audiocassettes and bring to you in a professional finished product. Iraq4u.com is setting the price at $10 USD to promote the project and to make such CD affordable to every Iraqi music enthusiast.

Current projects are:

Zakiya George ISBN:0-9727557-0-5
