Batter


1 Package dry yeast

1 ½ Cups warm water

1 ½ plain flour

½ tsp salt

4 tsp sugar

Corn or peanut oil for frying



Syrup


2 Cups Sugar

1 ½ water

2 tsp lemon juice

Rose water



Dissolve yeast in ¼ cup warm water. Sift flour and make a hole and add rest of water, salt and sugar. Stir and beat with mixer for 10 minutes. Cover and leave in warm place for 30 minutes. Beat again for 5 minutes and let sit for 30 minutes. Place 1 ½ inch of oil in a wide deep frying pan and heat to 375 degrees. Put batter in ziplock bag and make a hole. Pour batter in the oil and make few circles and going across the circles few times to get the desired shape. Fry for 3 minutes on one side, then turn to other side for 30 seconds. Drain as much oil as possible from zlabieh and place it immediately in cool syrup.



To make syrup mix sugar and water and boil for 10 minutes. Add rosewater and lemon and boil for 2 minutes.
