Give him 100 slaps on his head with the same shoes, which he threw at his liberator.

No one was liberated, Bush only executed his father’s unfinished agenda.

When you are brought up as a slave you will always prefere to stay as a slave to serve your master. You prefere the kicks and slaps of your master rather than choosing freedom. Because a slave scared from freedom. A slave always prefers the crumbs of his master over his freedom and dignity.

Maybe that’s the way you are. I, on the other hand, don’t think that liberation comes through a gun barrel. Real liberation comes from books, schools, and eliminating literacy.

Good point. But unless you are free to choose, they don't help.

I think that truth is, freedom is assured when the current generation sacrifices all in favour of liberty for their children.

"I'll never be free from the chains of the past"

The marks of terror and oppression never really go away - as memory of the past dims what remains is of the best and of the worst. These are not the things upon which peace, personal or political, can be built.

We can create a space for our children to play, and hope we have done well in educating them, and showing them what peace feels like, even as chaos seems to reign about us.

I wish I knew a different way.  If we hope for peace in this time we will likely not have the vision to accomplish peace in any time. If we look to the future and prepare for peace to be a blessing for our children, we may die in peace.

Freedom of choice is a personal one. Parents must choose to lay the right path for their children to follow. Education and freedom starts at home. If you do not take upon yourself the duty of educating your own children, they will grow up thinking that what they learn from school is the only way. Despite the fact that in a suppressed society, schools might teach science and math. However, students will always be kept in the dark about personal and public freedom. This is where parents must step in and enlighten their kids even if they have to do it in secrecy.

On the contrary, you should always build on your past instead of let in it take over your life. Look into your past, step on the worst, build on the best, and climb the ladder of life with you head high knowing that your suffering taught you the true meaning of free life.
