Is it a surprise that oil companies want to get back to Iraq as the price of crude oil has hit the roof to its highest price ever.

Since oil was discovered in Iraq, we had very little of our oil returns, until Kassim nationlised 12%.  After the 70's nationlisation of the oil industry in the country, Saddam and his clowns had the biggest share of the people's wealth.  He built his palaces, bought his son his fleet of luxury cars, and so on, without any consideration to the people.  Now we are crying if those company will come in and modernise, repair, research and service our old industry which was left to ruins by the old regime.  Our new government god bless them, haven't got a clue on who tie the knots and who untie them.  And now we have a shortage of petrol, what a joke!!!

I for one would like to see our engineers, our work force, our oil tankers, our power to make decisions on who to supply and for what price.  It is time that this adminstration to stand on its two feet and be counted.  We lost much too much of our wealth thanks to the theives of Baghdad.  We don't need palaces, and disney land, but investment in our industry.  Get the men back to work, give them a future to look forward to.

Once peace is achieved, many Iraqis will go back to the country, and help rebuild.

Mr Calm

Thank you for your kind words.

What has suprising me lately, is the contracts that the Kurds made for the Iraqi oil from the north, yet they still want a share of the iraqi oil else where.

Iraq's oil belong to the people of Iraq, not the Kurds or the Arabs, but to everyone.  Having the oil of the North branded as Kurdish oil will start another war, and by the most people wish that Saddam was back, and they wish that someone like him will be in charge.
