Ohh, pick me, pick me.

I can nock doors down and give them cheap American nock off beer. MMM, Pabst Blue Ribbon, yea...it's American, why wouldn't they love it?

Seriously though, I'm all for forming a malitia, erm, I mean, political party. We'll some supplies though.  Someone is going to have to make a trip to Iran for some campaigning materials. hehe. The real persuasive kind.

Some suggestions are required for our own in house Militia to be headed by our good friend and resident expert dritalin.

The beer belly Militia for alcoholic freedom and overindulgence would be my suggestion.

Has someone called me?????

Just when I tried to have a shut eye.  As your chairman I order you to behave yourself and get back to the nearest boozer, tell them to send me the bill later, when I am less sober.  I still see double, must be the strong moonshine I had 2 days ago.

God bless you all, and god bless every bar, night club, pub in this humble world.

Sorry zimzim to disappoint you, we do try and talk about other things from time to time, but being Iraqis, our bellies come first.

And for yellow, I have written to her, but had no reply.  Sorry.

Dear LoB, Calm and dritalin:
Thank you very much for you interest in doing canvassing work for my party. I'd just like to see your skills in people disposal management, marksmanship informal conversation, knocking down doors attracting their attention to the door politely and torture pesuasion.
Also, who'd like to slice their fingers off give out the party badges and who'd like to interrogate them get them to finish questionaires?

I'll send you your combat fatigues smart clothes, Klashnikov clipboard and balaclava smart hat.

Neo Neo Neo are you feeling alright buddy, I think you have a touch of the old tempreture or hangover.  I think couple of Asprins, a glass of the white juice (Milk), and straight to bed.

If that doesn't work, well try alternative medicine, how about a couple of tots of the old malt???

That is if Neo didn't drink a glass or two of the Iraqi white stuff the night before. Then hair of the dog is whats in order, so more of the white stuff in the morning will put things right. Just make sure you brush your teeth before going to work!

Holy white teeth...!!!!!

Wash his teeth and take the natural Iraqi shine out of them, don't think so.

When dad built our house, I remember field upon fields planted with lettuse surrounding our house.  And Abu Jawad one of the farmers was washing his mouth with soil, I was 4/5 yrs old, dad said for me not to do that, because I have lovely Iraqi white shine and Abu Jawad was trying hard to get one.

Now it is all built up area, amazing how things changed. Al-Alwiyah was gorgeous once upon a time.  In 50 years it went from being the best area to live in, to ruins.  So sad...

Neo just use any old tooth paste, it will do.

Hahaha you guys crack me up!
It is amazing how things change in 50 years, but even more so how things change in this thread. Fascinating how we changed from me talking about offering you and LoB Klashnikovs and Balaclavas to do my dirty militia work to Lettuce and toothpaste.
By the way, how on Earth did that guy clean his mouth with soil - how the hell did he do it?
I remember how were I used to live in Zaiuna, Baghdad, near Filisteen Road, used to be a very beautiful green and lively place - almost what I imagined heaven to be like. When I went back a few years ago, after the invasion, it was a dried, yellow, dead and ruined hell. That was so sad it almost brought me to tears.
Anyway, coincidentally, I have actually been feeling a little ill for the past few days, but I think it's getting a lot better.
Anyway, just to let you all know, I'm changing my Internet Service Provider, and buying a new laptop and giving this very old computer to my parents and sisters. So unfortunately, I might not be here for some time - but that doesn't automatically mean I've left. I'll come back here as soon as it's sorted out. I really hope Harry's latest stupidity wont bring this site down beyond help, and leave it deserted. Hope to see all you guys still here, and getting along.
Salaam to all, and hope for all the best.

Neo and Calm
Here is a promise. I'm coming to London in early Sept and will bring 2 bottles of Jordanian Halib Esba3 (3araq Haddad). I suggest that we arrange to meet at an appropriate venue and prepare some Iraqi Mezza, listen to some Iraqi songs and get absolutely **** faced and over emmotional. I'll be coming with my cousin who used to post on this site sometime back so it'll be the first time we meet although this site has allowed us at least some form of introduction. So where abouts in the UK are you currently residing? As I said my cousin will be with us and he has a nice flat in London with a roof terrace so we could even make an attempt to cook Mazgoof! Calm, I'm sure you could give us the correct guidance given your the senior citizen of the group? Sorry mate, couldn't resist it!

Man that sounds awsome bro, I'd love to come see all you guys in person (especially drunk  ).

I'll be at uni then, so no parents to bug me about going where and coming when either, so I can really relax. I live in the UK, so Inshallah I can very easily make it to London.

OK Guys, your on!

I wish I could get hold of some of this stuff but I believe they've stopped manufacturing it in Iraq.

So we'll have to make do with this stuff which is available in Jordan.

Or this stuff from Lebanon (my personal favorite).

I'm going to open a thread in the chat section of the forum regarding members favorite drinks and accompanying dishes. Be sure to pass by!

God LOB you are so funny, have you visited a doctor recently and announced you safe to be with.  I doubt it....

I can't wait to see you, that will be some day to remember, and just for you I am cooking Bamia today, with basmati rice, little round Kuba with almonds and mince to start with, and for afters, Mhalabi they way it was done the old days.  I have an Iraqi doctor and his wife visiting us.  And he hasn't ate iraqi food for ages, because he can't cook.

I shall raise a glass to you my friend, you are one in a million, and one to ur cousin, and Neo you better get on with your studies.

I just made some kebabs ready for a barbcue later on at a friends house.  Also made some hummas, baba Ghanooj, yougurt with mint and garlic and cuecumber.  I thought of you, I got a bottle of the Ouzo, and Bob's your uncle.

I am off to greece on the 8th of next month instead of the 10th.  Return flight was £91 return.  Only staying for 2 weeks.

Cheers mate. Enjoy your barbecue and hope the British weather is kind for once. Just received a PM from Harry and he's decided to leave the forum for good. This means we currently have no moderators and Admin is AWOL. Sad to say I think this forum is on its last legs.

Gentlemen,

While I think that many of the things on this thread are funny (especally the strike out of Kalishnikov->Clipboard) I would like to remind you that such talk might be excessively Western. I would like to remind you that the Koran itself speaks of the dangers of alcohol and I don't think it a wise thing to think that you are indestructable in that you can speak of these things lightly.

One of the troubling things in the West is that people, drunk on freedom, allow themselves to speak foolishly about their leaders, about religion and a host of other foolishnesses that you are probably already aware of. When I was an infantryman, we always spoke of the President in the most reverent of terms. Some of my fellows of education would point out something that didn't make sense in the policies and orders to our unit and the Army as a whole, but we always respected our leaders in the end.

I would point out that perhaps the best outcome for Iraq is for the current government to become stable and strong. The alternative is for another strong man to come along, or a coup by a Taliban type group, or Iraq's secular traditions being swallowed up in an Iranian type situation. That you are participating in a past-time that many silly mericans do because they have been spoiled rotten for centuries now, your situation is such that if you think that this is somehow enlightened, will make your situation better, or "what they do in the West" is improper.

That al Sadr looks like he could have a familial relationship with Rosie O'Donnel, that is funny (I think al Sadr would also find some humor in that) and good, clean fun I think.

But let's put this in perspective. Either the current installed government will work or it won't. If you don't support it and respect it, calling them monkeys and the like, you will get a government that you will respect. This is how it works in the Middle East. The question each and every one of you should be asking yourselves is what kind of government you want and be working towards it. If its Taiban, then grab your Kalishnikovs. If its Sharia and an Iranian model, then keep smiling until the Infadels leave and then fall upon the puppets and smash them. If its the Saudi model you like, then start bowing to the "monkeys" and respect them and revere them and make them into Kings. If a more Western model is desirous, then stop this foolishness of denegrating those who might end up being your saviors.

Laugh it up now. History has taught us (in Viet Nam) that if this doesn't go through and go through quickly, that what happens is the Americans leave and all hell breaks loose, and guys like you end up dead as doornails and your families too, and the remainder will suffer under a represive probably Islamic regime until everybody gets their fill of **** each other.

You have an opportunity. Its costs the American 300 million USD a day. It keeps the various factions involved on their toes and a kind of political vaccuum from which the Iraqi citizenry can choose what it wants. Make sure that you don't turn your nose up at something that you might want long term and have it disappear on you.
