Now this is nuts! With unemployment so high in Iraq what is this a-hole thinking?? Things just keep getting crazier and crazier.

Hahaha no one can bring laughter to me like the antics of the retards leading Iraq. They realy should start their own comedy show.

As I understand it, importing Egyptian workers was a sign of plenty and pride in Iraq's golden days. My parents brag at how before we were screwed over time after time, Iraq used to be so rich that people from Egypt use to immigrate to do jobs we were too posh to do ourselves.
I think these idiots are trying to save face somewhat by pretending like we are all rich and there's plenty, while everyone there is jobless and starving. It's just like with Disneyland Baghdad and all their other rubbish.

It's like they are worrying about the Soma8 and 6orshi (Somak and pickles, sorry, I don't have Arabic keyboard), and how nice their restaurant's chairs will be - while they don't even have bread to serve the people, let alone Kebab!

It's ludercrous, just shows hoe isolated from the reality in Iraq those idiots are in their Greenzone mansions. They aren't man enough to sort out the shamefull security question at hand, so they start **** around daydreaming about a eutopian Iraq!

How about encouraging Iraqi household to switch lights off when they are not using them to save energy for the environmet, or launching a campaign for awareness of the endangered Iraqi Mo6y (Mule)? Hell, why not start a housing construction project for those Egyptians, so we can look at their little flats from our large air-conditioned big homes with Egyptian bodyguards and feel sorry for how they are less fortunate than us supreme being Iraqis?. No, I know, what we need in Iraq is adverts encouraging Iraqis to eat more fruit and vegetables and less high-cholesterol food!

Calm down please, think about your bp (Blood Pressure).  Mind you, reading about what this government gets up to, will give anyone high bp and more.

Nothing amazes me anymore.  While our friends and relatives scattered all over the world, treated as asylum seekers, UN refugees, being treated badly in some countries, no help no food no medical assistance.  Many have to beg to survive, and if someone said its their fault for leaving, I just have to say, go and live there, your days are numbered.

Having said that, maybe only egyptians can live in Iraq.  This deserves a
DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
to the government.

Calm, I missed your DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH's. Its be a while since you gave us one (I mean catchphrase and not a rogering).

Anyone notice how slow the traffic is on this forum lately? I think Harry decided to continue celebrating his spring break till next spring, sadiq2006 has finally been admitted to a loony bin, YS has warped herself back to the 1960's and Tigris has decided to become al Furat.

Also missing iraqi100%, dritalin and others.

Hahaha I love your DUHHHHHHH's Calm, haven't really heard one - ever actually.

By the way, I'm really missing Sadiq2006, he was a awsome guy whose forth-right way of expressing his opinions gave this site a really nice light-hearted, less serious edge. Come back please Sadiq, we're beginning to forget how bad the Kurds are.

Iraq: Alcohol banned in southern city of Basra

Baghdad, 22 May (AKI) - Alcohol has been banned in the southern Iraqi province of Basra.

The provincial Basra Council has approved a new law enforcing the ban in the territory, the Voices of Iraq news agency cited Council president Nasif al-Ibadi as saying.

The alcohol in the province was approved late on Wednesday, al-Ibadi said.

"You will not be able to cross the borders between Iraq and other neighbouring countries carrying loads of alcohol to other parts of the country," he stated.

The local administration applied the change under Article 2 of the Iraqi constitution that includes the application of Sharia law.

The alcohol ban appears to be one of several changes in the area following an offensive by Iraqi security forces against the Shia militias of radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr a month ago.

Several local bars reopened in Basra recently after being closed for four years. They began serving alcohol after soldiers arrived from Baghdad to carry out the military offensive.

Talking about football, what the hell is happening to our team?

The Iraqi football association have requested re-in statement in time for the world cup qualifiers. The International football Federation should approve in the next couple of hours. Just to clear it up if anyone is confused. FIFA suspended Iraq because they said the Iraqi government sacked the IFA. The Iraqi govorment has since clarified that it hasn't sacked the IFA, therefore there is no reason for FIFA to continue with this suspension anymore.

quote:

Iraq govt says IFA not sacked
May 28, 2008

THE Iraqi government has confirmed the country's football governing body was not sacked, a move that could clear the way for Iraq to play Australia on Sunday.

FIFA had warned it would suspend Iraq from international competition for 12 months unless Baghdad reinstated the Iraq Football Association by midnight on Thursday (EST). However, Iraq Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's aide, Bassam al-Husseini, said he hoped the national team would play Australia after Baghdad sent a letter to FIFA confirming the IFA had not been sacked and was not covered by 'resolution 184' that dissolved the National Olympic Committee last week.

"The Iraqi Federation of Football is not covered by resolution 184 and it continues to engage in internal and external activities until the holding of elections,'' Husseini said.

Fox Sports understands FIFA president Sepp Blatter has said the Socceroos' World Cup qualifier against Iraq in Brisbane will go ahead, despite Football Federation Australia's reluctance to confirm the fixture. With millions of dollars and World Cup progress at stake, Australia has been waiting in the crossfire of the political battle between Iraq and FIFA. In addition to Sunday's match, there is also the return match in Dubai on June 7.

"The coaching staff and team are preparing as if the game is going ahead,'' FFA chief executive Buckley said as Iraq Football Association (IFA) president Hussein Saeed flew into Sydney for FIFA's two-day congress starting on Thursday.
"But we are preparing for both scenarios. We have been in constant discussions with FIFA over the past few days and I'm sure we will be advised if they have any outcome.''

Buckley said he had spoken to the IFA chief briefly to welcome him to Australia. But he stressed the row was a matter between the Iraqi government, the IFA and FIFA.

"This is not an issue that is within the control of the FFA,'' he said. Iraq arrived in Australia late on Tuesday following a friendly in Thailand where the Asian champions lost 2-1 after news of the developments back home broke.

Dear Calm:
I can't believe none of you guys enjoyed reading and laughing at Sadiq2006's comments, and how he loved to blame the Kurds for everything. Man those were good times.
Lol I can't believe you fell for those hair-growth products, they are just scams. I used to make fun of my father for considering them . Some of my friends who have hair shave it off - because they like the looks not because they are BNP Skinheads. I can't see anything wrong with baldness, unless for women, then I see their plight.

Dear LoB
I can't believe in all the places in Iraq to ban alcohol it's the south in Basrah. Don't those idiots know that Alcohol was first fermented by Sumarians who lived there. I can understand if they ban it in Holy Places like Najaf and Kerbala where all the pilgrimages take place, but a massive metropolis and Iraq's second largest city? That's just ridiclulous in my opinion, people deserve to have freedom. That and that  government official murdering his daughter and wife, must be getting the Ayatollahs and their politicians in Iran laughing their asses off while drinking fine wine and snacking on pork scratchings while watching it on news on their private cinemas - all paid for by Iraqi money, and letting their ****-daughters marry four atheist European, African, Chinese and American guys each.

Also, my friend's father recently went to Basrah to visit some relatives. He swears there are both police stations and government offices, but also the militia have their own depot stations and offices, with signs on them 'Muqtada Al Sadr Office', where they sort out paperwork and enforce their own laws. It's shockingly like a parallel government!

To ALL Iraqi government who are traitors to their people:

Neo, we agree totally. Religion cannot be forced on anyone and must be a matter of personal choice. These fake Mullas and local governments must have taken their strategy from Saddam Hussein because they use the same "take it or die it policy". I also suspect they they are driving the sale of alcohol into the black market so they can profit from it through their criminal agents. The same agents who are forcing Shar3iya law on the good people of Basra. There you go, I said it. Now I can expect one of these monkeys to issue a fatwa against me so please be kind enough to write an obituary on my behalf on this forum if you notice my absence in the coming weeks. Don't forget to include that I believe in personal choice and have a weakness for strong liqueur and leggy brunets.

I know it juvenile but everytime I see that pants down smilie it makes me laugh!

A big Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh coming your way.  Do you really think I waste my money on creams like that?  There isn't bald patch been kissed by so many like the one I have.  Good grief, what got into you?  Maybe the idea of Arakless Iraq?

I was think to start a new party to promote Alcohol in Iraq, but can't think of a name that will appeal to the voters.

The banner will say 'Arak and sex go hand in hand'

I swear the current batch of Iraqi politicians are like diapers. They both need changing regularly and for the same reason. So why not offer the Iraqi public an alternative party to challenge what has become the status quo. Heres my suggestion:

THE UNITED IRAQI PARTY FOR ARAK AND BEER
Abu Nawas Street,
Karada Kharij,
Baghdad, Iraq

Party Slogan
Alcohol may be man's worst enemy, but the Koran and bible teaches us to love our enemy. If you believe religion makes sense, join us now!

Alternative Slogan
Why wait for Heaven when Heaven is available at your nearest off license.

Fees
None. Free bottle of Arak and a case of Farida provided to all new members who join before August 2008.

Chairman
Calm the Greek

General secretary
Harry

Ministers of marketing and promotion
Lion of Babylon, Neo Babylonian

Minister of Mazghoof and Kawlia

Dear LoB:
Very well said my friened, I can't agree anymore
By the way, have you ever seen that film New Jack City - it's very old, but you can find it here:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=vgdIP6ZDHnM
Or you can try Limewire.

Anyway, despite being played down somewhat and ignored, what the Drug Dealer says at the end in his court case (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nEGxoJWasZY&feature=related) is totally true IMO. Like you said, it's the same people who are lobbying forcing sharia are the biggest benefactors. And besides which, where in Sharia does it say it should be forced on people. Sharia is a way people live if the choose to, it should never be forced. They only force it for their own greed, because if they gave the smallest consideration for morality, they would get off their "five dollar asses" (from the movie), and do something about Iraq's horrific situation.

By the way, great party motto  , but can I be the guy incharge of Kawlia affairs please?

Hi Neo, yes I've seen the movie (I'm a bit of a movie buff). Talking of New Jack City, I read recently that one of its stars (Wesley Snipes) received a 3 years jail term for evasion of taxes. Strange to think OJ Simpson can kill his wife and get away with it whilst Snipes gets 3 years for tax evasion?? I guess the old saying that goes "there are two things in life that are unavoidable, Death and Taxes" is true. I don't understand American justice but then again as Iraqis we can't exactly take the high moral ground.

Ok, thanks very much LoB. Just give me a bit of time to get my private army party workers organised to force and threaten enlighten and help the masses to vote for me.
By the way, anyone interested in doing door-to-door advertising work for my party?
