Someone sent this ages ago on a gaming forum. Thought it might be cool here, take the test and tell us where about you are. http://www.politicalcompass.org/test
I'm centre-left, mild-libertarian - just where Nelson Mandela is on the internationa chart, but in the centre of left not extreme like that commie lol.
Ya know, had it been an option I would have picked "No opinion" on about 25% of the questions.
In the area of economics I am "free market" but believe nearly every industry should be not only regulated but have to pay for the inspections andenforcement. Corporations should be treated as guilty of abusive behavior toward customers, employees, and the government and should go on tiral annually to prove their innocence of these charges. Corporations should have moral standards imposed wih severe consequnce fo transgression. They should operate with a license whose grant depends on their conduct and employees should be forced to choose between working as professionals in a corporation or being allowed to lobby, vote, or otherwise particpate in politics - and the consequnce for breach is hard labor using a sledgehammer to build roads in Tibet. I believe there should be a cap on income and wealth - set very high but well below the level described as "obscene". Excess income collected from this should be given to Churches who have assumed the responsibility for the welfare of their members and neighbors. {No tax exemptions for churches - they would be treated like corporations with even higher licensing standards, primarily around their responsibility to the welfare of their members and neighbors.
Socially, I am close to a moderate libertarian, but religion wise, I am authoritarian in judgement and counsel, but in like manner forgiving and non-judgemental for people who are not yet complete {99.99999999999999% of the population}.
{PS my intelletual "heros" are Machiavelli and Thoreau. I also supremely admire Tony Soprano for his ability to be effective in spite of all of the rules and regulations that conspire to produce ineffective and wasted action. His moral compass, however, is not merely off but absolutely destroyed}.
Yes, and once a year every citizen who hopes to paricipate in politics, {vote, yard sign, contribute money, run for office} must host a barbecue in his backyard for all his neighbors within .25 miles of his home.
