I just noticed in this picture that the Iraqi Police are wearing a new uniform similar to US print. Except...I honestly think I like theirs better, it's pretty sharp looking.
(The Iraqi Police are the ones in the darker blue uniform)
lol calm. I hope your talking about the US srg in the middle, because his glasses do look pretty goofy. Those are good ol classic government issue eye protection!
It's a nice addition that picture of the iraqi police with the ammo all over him is wearing the sunglasses.
I kind of figured that those were commando units wearing the high speed uniforms. It's pretty cool though.
Lol my friend if I understand correctly thats an ancient PK - probably older than the Commando himself and totally useless in modern urban warfare. And the Rambo-esque bullet belt does nothing but attempt, and fail miserably, to intimidate - the Militia and terrorists have more balaklavas and wear black, so they'll automatically win the 'who looks scarier' beauty contest. Also it is very impractical, but it seems they are forced to put the bullets in belts as they are too badly funded for 200rd MG ammo boxes. Also I think he should have an FN 'Minimi' M249 Elican.
Also I personally think the US uniforms are a lot better. Their colours are much duller, so provide better camoflage. The Iraqi version just look like cheap imitations from China. Hope they don't have as much lead as the toys, as inevitably they'll get their fare share of lead from the terrorists - with such badly funded, armed, trained and controlled security forces.

If you want them duller than nothing wrong with a bottle of bleach, and a label saying made in the USA. Hope that will make you happy, I wonder what Sadr or Maliki will look like in those new bleached uniformas.
yah, the dull grey is a bit better camo, but blue matches my skin tone so much better :), or back when we used green, I look great in green :)
Yah, those weapons are pretty old, but there is an effort to update the weapons of the security forces. The 1st 7th and 9th Iraqi army div's operating out of Anbar, and the 6th and 11th currently in Sadr city and other parts of Baghdad have been equiped with m16's (which I know aren't the best, but their worthy enough that personaly trust them). Also I'm told by a friend in theatre that the Iraqi Special operation forces are using m4's and 249's.
