That is the problem with the media, instead of saying some of the Catholic priests, or mentioning them by names, they always generalize it as if the entire Catholic community is pedophilic, forgetting that these offenders make up probably one in a hundred thousand of the Catholic priests in the world. That comes for a few reasons. The main one is that the media companies look for ratings, which is the main source of income. The other thing is, the more dramatic the story is, the more people remember it and get affected by it, and we all know how some simpletons take everything as if it is the end of the world. Another reason for the media exaggeration is the fact that freedom of religion separated the government and the church (Catholic or otherwise), so this is a good way to invent more of news hungry individuals who will make it the talk of the day, if not the century. The same goes for the terrorism the world is facing these days. Instead of saying hardliners, or extremists, they are generalizing and connecting Islam directly with these inhumane acts. I guess the one thing those extremists should do is fight a cultural war instead of a religious one. They always claim that what they are doing is in the name of Allah, and we all know how misguided they are about not only Islam, but also about other religions. They have no idea how and what they represent, except what they hear from their leaders, and the problem is, they are so naïve that they obey these words and fatwas blindly. I guess we should stop discussing religion and look at the political aspects of the visit, since this is a politics forum.
