In the name of all members here, I welcome you to our little cozy corner of the web.

Now to answer your Q.

It used to be heavenly; nowadays, it sucks; big time.

Hey welcome man, nice to see people care about the situation in Iraq for the normal people.
Can't say it any better than Harry, it was awsome for a historical breather, and now the Iraqi people go back to the suffering they endured throughout history.

Once we had freedom to do what we like as young people, as long as we didn't speak bad of the government.

We had good time as long as we passed the end of year exams, then the summer was one long party.  Then came 68 with the baath party, we started looking over our shoulders.  Who was watching who?  And the creation of a new society that no one trusted anybody, even within the fabric of the family.

But now, it is hell, my brother said, we used to be prisoners of our own country, now we are prisoners in our homes.
