I was sad to hear that Baghdad had its first shower of snow in history. Can someone explain who is responsible? And why they couldn't wait for everyone to get back to witness this event.
Snow in Baghdad!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't imagine that.
A resident walks along a street during snowfall in Baghdad January 11, 2008. Snow fell on Baghdad on Friday for the first time in memory, and delighted residents declared it an omen of peace.
An Iraqi man and his child enjoy light snow fall in eastern Baghdad, Iraq, Jan. 11, 2008. After weathering nearly five years of war, Baghdad residents thought they'd pretty much seen it all. But Friday morning, as muezzins were calling the faithful to prayer, the people here awoke to something certifiably new. For the first time in memory, snow fell across Baghdad.
