, Ok, this last one I must say to me is NOT funny! SAD! For America to have a leader that can be viewed this way is beyond comprehension. Even though this video is obviously fabricated, many in the world today now view our government with total disrespect as do many Americans. Just plain SAD. Where is the "American Dream", where is the Respect we had at one time for our leaders?
I can only hope pray that sometime-sooner than later-we can obtain a leader who will can change this country and the way we are looked upon. We have lost our credibility world wide and need it back.

Around this time I did post something about ex. Pres. Carter stating that Geo. Bushie is the worst Pres. in history, he did back track, but at least said IT!
I don't know what you are trying to say here, whether you being sarcastic or not, but let me tell you a bit of facts. And that started after the first gulf war.
The number of children killed, since the first gulf war until now including the blockade that was initiated by britain and the US, is around One small million. Lack of food, medicine, and the use of Depleted Uranium, cluster bombs, mistake of identity, and i don't know how you can mistake a child and shoot that child on sight, trigger happy, lack of good communication, lack of drinking water, electricty, jobs, affordable food, and I can go on.
I am not pointing the finger on the american individual, but the establishment who went into a war without any preperation whatsoever, they divided the country into shiat, sunni, kurds, christain, and the rest. It would've been so much better to bring all the sides together and talk to them together. America is to blame the mess we are in now.

Before I watch Dustin's contribution, I am posting something I choose to think of as positive. Just watched "Meet the Press". Barack Obama was on and gave a excellent interview, made some good points. Not word for word - perhaps being in Washington for many years was not such a good thing in regards to experience, that this country needs change. Makes sense, my words here, no change for corruption by the system. When it is on Utube, or Msnbc I will post a link.
We need a new leader, as for now, Obama appears to be the best man for the job. Compassion, truthfulness, etc., he appears to have. As said before, if this man makes it, I hope he is strong enough to not get corrupted by money/power. At this point it is obvious to me he isn't.
Now I will watch Dustins utube post, however, if it is too much i won't watch long. Any harm to children should upset anyone with a soul.

whoops, no CHANCE for corruption by the system, not change.
OK, now that video, Dustin, was a tad wacked! From what I think I know of you I will assume that you meant it to show that our military is there to help the children of Iraq, Question AM I CORRECT? YOU NEED TO ANSWER THIS MY DEAR FRIEND AND "FELLOW AMERICAN". For clarification and for your credibility on this forum.
Calm in regards to your post above, anytime there is a war innocents suffer, children, women, innocent men, etc.. There are ALWAYS casulties. It is indeed a horrible fact.
Dustin, of course, knows this.
I don't think the background music of that video helped any credibility factor.
I should like to think that the US military does indeed care and care DEEPLY about the children in Iraq PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are NOT expendable "puppies" or animals. They are living breathing human beings with souls.
Dustin, I think it is important that you address this, I do feel that a better video could have been chosen to present the point that I feel you were trying to make.

LOL, it was meant as sort of a joke...ie, it's not a video of soldiers 'torturing' iraqis, but actually happy pictures with them. There's like 30 volumes of these.
On a serious note there are bad things that happen.
Here's a link to the movie Redacted, about a squad of US soldier who witness the rape and killing of an Iraqi girl and her family by two of the squads members. It also features a pregnant woman being shot wile speeding through a checkpoint. It's not really acurate at all when it shows the officers trying to 'cover it up,' which isn't the attidude of any of the cadre I know. It does show the bad side of life, some things that can probably happen, in fact, probably have.
What this video doesn't show is the other end of the stick.
"A suicide bomber detonated a car crammed with explosives this afternoon targeting a joint checkpoint of the Iraqi army and the Muqdadiya popular committees, killing seven Iraqi soldiers and three popular committees fighters and injuring eight others,"
As far as I can tell, it's the Awakening councils and Iraqi forces that are doing the real damage to Al Qaeda. Whith so many deaths. As bad as dying children is, could you imagine a Baghdad that resembled Kabul 5 years ago? Or 600 years ago when the Mongols invaded?
Things are bad, forgive me if I seem like I'm trying to just sugar coat everything, but their not the worse. 20 million Russian citizens died in WWII. Communist regimes are responisble for the accumulated murder of some 110,000,000 people worldwide. 100,000 died as the result of one firebomb raid over Tokyo by US planes.
Murder, Genocide, and conquest are nothing new to the world. The men that fought with Washington to expell the British suffered winter with no shoes, have you ever stood in the snow without shoes on? In Pennsylvania? 2,500 of them died from exposure and disease, blood from their feet in the snow.
Saddam Hussien defied the world, broke the rules, and endagered his peoples lives. Do we really need to recall the circus show led by Hans Blix that they called 'weapons inspection.' If you have to be mad at somebody, don't be mad at the US for exshausting every form of diplomacy to enforce international law. We didn't invade Kuwait, and we helped out upon request. We watched Saddam thumb his nose at the world, it wasn't just us. It was the enticings of an egotistical dictator who plunged his own country into war, twice. I don't know what you suggest the US should have done to prepare, but I'll be the first the admit we didn't. We did learn, and we are being very careful to help Iraq for the long term. Perhaps you would like us to march in like Soviet forces in Kabul, killing everything that moves? We could, but I speak for myself, and several confidants of mine in the military when I say you would find many more US soldiers disobeying those orders.
I recal a Sgt. I had when I first joined. I was in an RSP battallion, which is made up of people who have not been to basic training yet. He taught us to think for ourselves and that the Army didn't want a bunch of blind obedient lemmings. Hate is a part of war. An Iranian friend of mine, a very open minded liberal and sectarian person, confided in me one day. He said that he had fought in the Iran-Iraq war. He described the way that he developed a deep seeded, clingy and filthy hatred that grew on him for the people that were shooting at him, and he was shooting at. He has since released the hate, but with obvious scars.
Let God be the judge, there is none greater. For us mortals there is no good war. We are justified in our defense, and it is never a happy day. What I want to know is when Iran proliferates, and hands their bomb to Hezbolah, or Hamas will you weep for the children in Isreal as much as you weep for your own.
Pres. Bush appears to have the same issue I had a couple of years back, yep dudes a story from big mouth mama...hold on to your pants...
had a injury, 3 surgeries on a tendon attached to my middle finger, eventually had to stretch it frequently, yep bush must have the same injury, that's it dudes! YEP

With respect. I am not going to make saddam a hero, not in a million years. But it was the US who made him. Gave him all the support to try and kill General Qasim, because Qasim seemed to be a threat as he nationalise 12% of our own oil (I repeat our own oil), until then we only had a share of 2%.
In 63 the american establishment helped in getting rid of Qasim for good. When Pres. Abdul Rahman Arif went to war against Israel in 67 war, he had to be changed, the establishment did it again.
Went Saddam went to war with Iran, he had all the support that he needed, including WMD. He was the hero, and when he invaded Kuwait, the american embassoder in iraq decided to be on vacation. According to the establishment, that was border arab conflict.
In any war, innocent people get killed, whether it is 110,000,000, or 1,000,000, or even 1. That isn't acceptable, and we cannot justify it because somewhere else, in another war, so far away, and so many years ago, more people got killed.
What is not happening, is too see good money spent on reassuring people that the world is a better place to live in. I can write a list here...
I love the american people, and god bless them all, but I hate the establishment, which is driven by greed and power.
who is rulling USA always the dump stupid of our the american leaders from 400 years ago until now, and in the end israel is rulling us americans and making fool of ourselves and to the others that is who is rulling us.
interesting link, no more freedom here in the US, link is in regards to the lovely (NOT) patriot act.
i am not stupid and do realize there are so many dangers in this world today, however, what is wrong with this picture? many americans (I KNOW i have said this many x's)do NOT want the truth, want their stupid rose colored glasses. what a f&*^%$# u) mess!
"On second thought, would you even be willing to utter the words, "I absolutely believe to my soul that this corporate greed and corporate power has an ironclad hold on our democracy?" 'Cause the candidate who understands that, and who sees it as the root of all evil -- including the root of global warming -- is the President who may lead us to a place of sanity, justice and peace. Yours, Michael Moore"
