One of the boldest movies showing on cinema, Heya Fawda
Everyone in the Arab world, to include well-known leaders at the time responded when former Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser started calling for the “Arab Nationalist Movement” but the idea pretty much died after several years and only some dreamers kept raising it from grave!
Over thirty years have passed since then and as we all know, every one went playing their own cards/games, even if that meant harming and destroying their neighbor which generated hatred between the Arab nations. Thanks to the BOLD Egyptian cinema with movies like Heya Fawda, plays like Al Zaeem, and Syrian soap operas like Maraya, plays like Day’at Tishreen, Ghorba and Kasak ya Watan to remind us that as Arabs, we all share the same situation regardless of our place of birth!
Thank you Mr. Youssef Chahine and thank you Mr. Khaled Youssef for shedding a light on our darkened situation, for proving that no matter where we come from, we are still able to read between the lines of your creativity regardless of the dialect used wither it is Egyptian, Syrian, etc.
