ok, now hoping i don't offend any muslim men with statement prior...
however, here in america things are different.
i am not a "women's libber" so to speak, however, do feel it is a woman's right to speak up and be treated fairly.
no offense intended.

No offense taken...at least not by me.

YS, this might surprise you given how Iraq has turned out but historically Iraqi women have enjoyed far more rights than many of their counterparts in the Middle East. The Iraqi Provisional Constitution (drafted in 1970) formally guaranteed equal rights to women and other laws specifically ensured their right to vote, attend school, run for political office, and own property. I remember how my family in Baghdad reacted to this new constitutional change and how much hope we all had for Iraq back in the 70's. If only we knew then that all we had to look forward to were 3 wars, economic sanctions and now fake democracy and religious fundamentalism! All our dreams have gone up in smoke.

Keeping to the title of this forYum, for a change !!!  Watching the special additions to Fahrenheit 911 (which is a Rough movie to watch in case some of you haven't) there is a section on MiddleEastern Comedy or something to that effect, anyway, thinking that all with Arabic/M.Estrn names should have changed them to spanish/mexican ones.  Especially while traveling...  Who wants "PEDRO GONZALES"????  any takers?

Also watched "Sicko"...

So sad...

take care dudes/ette's

I meant to ask you about the book. Try to find a publisher with good distributorship in the Middle East. Whats the new one about?

I was thinking about Azinoruum too.  But for your friend sadiq, well he can stay away for all I care, at least we can have some peace now.

Harry got difficult exams coming up, but for Tigris, god Knows.  YS where are you?  I lost her email when my pc went down, I downloaded yahoo messenger, it it wiped out almost everything.  Thank god I keep backups.

Yeah, I'm wondering about were Yellow Sunshine, Harry and Sadiq2006 went. They were awsome, and each one gave this site a unique atmosphere and angle.

Come on guys, I missing all your posts here. Remember I'm Iraqi, and if you three wont come willingly, I'll have to kidnap you and keep you here hostage.

cheers buddy

I wish we have an iraqi owning a publishing co. He will be rich.  I will supply him with a book every six months.

There is an idea for someone with money and hasn't got a clue what to do with it.
