thanksgiving is just a dinner, however a HUGE one, BIG MOMMA was one sick puppy for awhile, just had a tad of all, but it added up, 2 MUCH FOOD! Tradition is Turkey with stuffing, mashed potatos/gravy, candied yams, green been casserole, cranberry sauce, rolls, pecan pie/pumpkin pie. Each family has their own added items that they tend to serve yearly. We usually have a broccoli/califlower, cheese sauce, baked beans in addition to tradition. This year we had 2 types stuffing, one with cornbread and fresh oysters (this was so good I cooked another turkey at home and made it, now I am sick of turkey) a ham was shipped from a friend in Texas to add to the mix. I have no idea how many variety's of pies there were as I was sick. Oh, we had many diff. wines as well. I think I sampled All of them, which did not help. +++ Last night I cooked leftover turkey in Hot Sauce, Lime Juice, Olive Oil, garlic, paprika a tad bit of vinegar, cracked black pepper, sea salt. Served with celery and a homeade blue cheese dressing for dip, this was really good, but NO Turkey today. Years back I used to use the leftover turkey to make a Pakistani dish, Kaligosht, which was pretty good, varried from the roast turkey which gets pretty booring. the first time i watched the "cage" fighting was my son's fight with all the pro's. it was NOT pretty, this was not a sactioned fight, but there is a huge place that is rather popular they had invited him. opprox. 500 people there, one man told me they had just built a new octagon and had my son's name etched on the bottom as the first x was officially being used was that night, said my son had made him a lot of money, kind of like "dog fights", SIGH> anyway, drank a tad bit too much beer that night, ended up in the octagon immediately following his victory, had my pomeranian dog (we both had matching t-shirts on with support for my son printed), how i got in there i have no idea, the final opponut was still passed out on the floor, bloody, was NOT pretty, thank God for beer that night. i was promptly escorted out, so the kid could get his belt. big mouth had to announce that it was her son and he got his toughness from his mom. Sigh...had to promise my son that I would NOT behave this way again. kid says he won't ever do the unsanctioned fights again as there are many injuries, no insurance and all those fights in one night were too much. this x just one fight. ok LOB, your fault you got me going and my boyfriend is hungry, cold/working outside here and i am getting dirty looks.
