Dudes, it was a shame that Admin decided to lock this thread. At least members discussed things on it and it kinda became the coffee shop of the forum, a place where people could let off steam and talk about anything. Far more interesting than continuously posting news articles without comment. Anyway, whats done is done. I thought I'd start up a new thread to continue on where we left off.

LOB, yep several have stopped posting, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't do the same, we will miss you dreadfully DUDE!

can't you just ignore him?

Thanks for your kind words YS.

It looks as if Admin finally had enough of this guy because he's moved many of his C&P posts to the appropriate forums. As long as this continues I will be happy to log on and be part of the forum. I also hope that many missing friends return to the discussions now that some order has been restored to iraq4you. Well done Admin!

Yup,
I think a few changes need to be made in this forum in order to win back our valued members.
By the way, has anyone heard from Calm? I hope he hasn't done a runner as a result of this.

Dude, lets hope that now Admin has finally recognised the problem we might just get some of the old crowd back. I'd lost hope untill just recently but things are looking up again. All forums need the Admin and moderators to be actively involved in order to keep it free of time wasters and bores. Keep up the good work guys.

YEP, LOB, I am glad u started #2 on this one.  This fits for a lot of "whatever" and we all have used it frequently.  As I posted before I have now sent Calm 2 email's, have not heard back from him.  I certainly hope he wasn't affended, this is NOT like him to not post for this long.

Maybe someone else can also email him?

Perhaps he is busy promoting his book? Whatever the case may be I hope he comes back soon. Whether you agree with Calm or not he always speaks from the heart. Also haven't seen many posts from Harry recently but then again I've been away for a while.

LOB:
Thanks for thinking about this.

Guys:
Let’s keep this one for the odds and ends of the politics in your part of the world, the funny part of it, like Bush saying some funny words, such as “The google” “The Internets” “Missunderestimate” and so on.

Please no cut and paste, stuff without some funny remarks, I will delete those that get out of the topic. I am sure Tigris will too.
Is anything funny in politics happening where you are?

The Clinton Clowns were on "stage" for Billary's 60th B'day party, believe they had a dinner charging HUGE sums of $ for a plate, of course $ went to Billary's and Billdo's campaign!

Billdo was giving a speech somewhere and got very upset and angry when someone was asking about the 911 coverup, perhaps also something about bldg. #7.

ha ha

Oh another "funny" Jennifer Granholm, the governor of Michigan is the 3rd Highest Paid Gov. in the country!  ha ha

Michigan is known as the "welfare wonderland" with all the new taxes imposed on the poor and middle class and all the HIGH salaries the big politicians make I "wonder" why?  ha ha

Michigan has a law called "The Driver's Responsibilty Fee" which appears to be "double jepardy", even tho. some senator had it on the books to repeal Oct. 1st I haven't heard a thing and doubt it will go thru..  Some other state, Virginia I think had this and I believe it was eventually thrown out as perhaps it was unconstitutional.  ha ha

Has anyone heard why the other bldg in New York went down recently?  I had heard about this on the news and haven't heard any followup to this.  Perhaps I shall google it.  Funny how the news jumps from one issue to another and many time there is notta follow up.  Oh there Is ALWAYS follow up on Britney Spears, Lindsey, Paris Hilton and so on.  ha ha

Dude, did you just come up with that? if yes then go get it patented as fast as your legs can carry you. If Clinton does become the first female President then you'll be rolling in $$$$$$$$$$$$$! it'll be one of the most used phrases in America.

Just an observation about iraq4you. I've viewed and contributed to various Iraqi sites and their forums but this one is different in one way. Nearly all the traffic goes exclusively through its politics forum. You might have the odd day when something is posted in, lets say, the music or business development forums but the politics forum is the one everyone gravitates to. Despite iraq4you offering members quite a varied choice of subject matter such as Music, Business development, fun chat (RIP) etc, members, including myself, still prefer to discuss non political issues (sometimes personal), in the politics forum. Whats your take on this??

Admin, Harry and tigris. Great new layout and I love how members are now rated by Iraqi army rank according to the number of posts. Very original. All we need now is new smillies.

to some degree i realize this country needs  "homeland security" i just DETEST the fact that innocent citizens get targeted and that we are losing/have already lost so many rights, zero privacy here.  i strongly know i am one of "these", oh well, the price i pay for exercising what rights we have left.

Hi everyone

I am back, I went to Crete for three weeks to drink Ouzo and raki, and eat some delicious dishes like eggplant dip, and Tarmasalata, creek salad with fetta cheese, and sea fish of all kinds.  The company was good, the weather was good, and very peaceful.  About 5.30 onward reminded me so much by baghdad in the old days, sitting by the river in abu nawass, drinking arak and eating maskoof, the sunset is terrific, and the there is nothing in the world can match those moments.
I book is done, and I have a publisher in America who wants the full manuscript.  A week from now, i will send them the full manuscript.

god bless you all

xx

Calm!!!

We got a bit worried about you. Welcome back.
Glad you had a good time there. I admire the Greek culture, it is very similar to ours. Wow, Arak and meza by the sea, I think only Arak and meza by the Tigris can beat that but just by a bit.

What's your book about? (sorry I havent been following it up from previous posts).

Take care & welcome back.

Zorba dude! Welcome back bro, I knew you would re-surface eventually. Great news about the manuscript and it sounds like you had a fine time in Crete. I just opened a bottle of Arak Haddad and will drink my first "peik" in your honour. I would suggest you do the same tigris and lets all pretend we are in Baghdad together on Abu Nawass, sampling the mezza, mezgoof and enjoying the buzz and energy that only happens in our hometown on one of those balmy evenings. Nothing wrong with a bit of healthy daydreaming once in a while, don't you agree? Cheers!

Cheers to you all. And Calm, welcome back buddy. I read the chapters you sent to me. Looking great, go for it. Just remember to make sure the publisher does not hi jack the book for himself.

I just got a new bottle of scotch it’s called “Pinch the dimple” It was the only scotch I drank in Iraq; if you guys know it. I’ll open it and make a toast to all of you boozers, and may Calms book be the first of many successful ones.

Cheers to all.
