Harry -> GOD'S Warriors (8/23/2007 9:04:48 AM)

Has anyone been watching Christiane Amanpours' “God’s Warriors?

I think it’s something to discuss once CNN runs the last part of it today.
 Anyone shares my sentiments?

It is a 3-part report aired on CNN, the last part is on 6 pm pst this evening.

The first was titled “Jewish GOD’S Warriors”.
The second was titled “Islam’s GOD’S Warriors”.
The third is “Christian GOD’S Warriors”.

Harry bro, I'm so pissed off! I'd seen it advertised for the last 3 weeks and ended up missing all the shows. I'll watch it on youtube when its posted. I respect Christiane Amanpour and was looking forward to this series of reports. Did you know she was born and raised in Iran?

Harry -> RE: GOD'S Warriors (8/23/2007 2:06:48 PM)

Yes, I do. She was actually banned from entering Iran; I am wondering how she got into Iran to interview all those Imams?

Lion of Babylon -> RE: GOD'S Warriors (8/23/2007 11:29:08 PM)

Harry bro. I just posted the first part of the documentary on the youtube thread. Once I get the chance to watch them all I'll be with you. What was your impression about the program?

Harry -> RE: GOD'S Warriors (8/24/2007 8:38:18 AM)

The way I see it is that it targeted specific people, She almost never asked any direct to the point questions, she got a false response to many of her questions, yet she never disputed those responses.

The report lacked new information about any of the religions, and it offered no material that is vital in understanding the point from all three segments.
 No new information, no solutions, and nothing interesting, Just frustration, from her irrelevant questions. In other words, “Total disapointmnet”.

Lion of Babylon -> RE: GOD'S Warriors (8/25/2007 10:10:14 PM)

Harry, just watched the first and second parts and as you said it was disappointing. These documentaries seem to be targeting the general public who still don't have any idea about such issues. Anyone who has some general knowledge about this type of extremism will find it a bit basic.

I expected some in depth reports, a few good confrontations with all those who label the other side with a variety of names, and titles. I expected a more intelligent and more interesting report from Christiane, instead I got frustrated when each side was telling nothing but lies and forging stories and facts to as they see them fit.

Especially the third part “Christian God warriors”. All she did is promote evangelism, like there are no other Christians on earth. Like Catholic, Apostolic, and others have no place in Christianity.

Why did she have to interview Fallwel? Does he represent world Christians? He is no better than Tammy Fay, or any other preacher that stands In front of a huge flock of sheep wearing his three-piece suit and jewelry talking about the Christ.

 I am yet to see those people conduct a real prayer, instead they clap dance, and jump up and down (in rhythm with a rock-band) with there hands up in the air like they are signaling an airplane during taxing in an airport; not realizing that they are financing the preachers luxurious lifestyle.

I agree. She chose to interview a high profile showmen like Fallwel rather than the real overlords of the Christian extremist movement. A waste of time and another opportunity for Fallwel to cheapen his religion and get some free advertising.
