mr RideUmCowboy, I must say your posts are quite original.  I love to cook and usually will try just about any new dish, but I really don't think I will try the road kill posum and carp recipe.  That is a tad bit much.
Take care and perhaps you need an electrician to check your circuits?

To all those masgouf lovers.

Masgouf recipe:

Take large freshwater fish, preferably carp caught in Tigris or Euphrates
Scale, gut and clean
Cut along back and open up so that fish is flat and round
Season with salt
Add barbeque onions
Place in barbecue grill
Cook upright beside open wood fire
Season with lemon
Serve with bread and salads. Eat with your fingers, ideally in the evening in the open air along the river bank

lob r u referring to a tandoori oven?  or an open grill as we would do when roughing it in the states?  w/out the charcoal, etc..  used to refer to it as "survival camping" when either no $ or nothing else available to use.

never did light a fire with 2 sticks, or with a magnify. glass either.  did use matches, lighters, not into that much of roughing it.

never did have carp either, tho. catfish is often eaten over here.  have had some that was wonderful and some that was really gritty.

Yellow my friend

There is a small island in the Tigris called the mother of pigs, the cane that grows on i is unique, and has the most beautiful smokey taste when used for cooking.  There is no real oven, or tandorie oven, but similar to camp fire, and the fish is cut and hang against the wind.

But when I went to crete recently, that type of cane grows in crete, and it was beautiful with Sea Bream.

You did remind me with (جزيرة أُم ألخنازير) we used to go there to hunt wild boars or what you might call HOGS. That was before the SOBs Ba’thies took it over.

However, (بليه تعلوم ) in other words (with all due respect) the name doesn’t actually mean “Mother of pigs” the name is derived from the actual inhabitant of the Island, so the word (أُم ألخنازير) means the “one that has pigs” and since the word (جزيره) meaning Island is a feminine word that is why they use the word (أُم) instead of (أَبو) so the actual (non-literal) translation is “The Island with pigs”.

You are a walking
Encyclopidia

I didn't know that people lived there, that is new to me.  We used to go there to get wild Hogs during the mercury poisoning.  And for those who forgot that, it was a huge shipment of wheat from america (and mexico) which was treated with mercury for better harvest.  But the farmers used the surplus to feed the family, and their animals, creating one of the worse mass poisoning episodes in history.

Iraq Mercury Poisoning

In the early 1970's a major methyl mercury poisoning catastrophe occurred in which an estimated 10,000 people died and 100,000 were severely and permanently brain damaged. Saddam Hussein's regime was largely successful in suppressing information about the event.
The problem began in the late 1960's and early 1970's, when Iraq experienced a series of abysmal harvests its leader decided to import a newly branded "wonder wheat" from Mexico. The risk was that the seed might grow moldy during the long, humid ocean transport to Iraq if it was not dressed with some fungicide. Methyl mercury became the most cost-effective fungicide, because it had recently been banned in Scandinavia and several American states due to environmental and toxicological risks. So the world market was flooded and prices dropped. (reference)

The wheat seeds dressed with methyl mercury were sent to Basra in Iraq's south. Because the shipment arrived late, trucks and trains that had been at hand were reassigned. So it took another couple of months before the grain reached the farmers. By then the sowing season was over. Farmers were left with a pink grain that they were told not to eat, only to plant. But recent harvests had been lousy and farmers had little or nothing to feed their animals and themselves.
Like many farmers of the world, Iraqi farmers mistrust their government and began feeding the grain to chickens or sheep and watched to see if there were any bad side effects. Nothing happened for weeks. At that point, most farmers began giving the grain to their livestock and eating it themselves. Children got to like the pink bread.

However, bad things start to happen a few months later and hospitals were flooded with patients showing symptoms of damage to the central nervous system. At first, doctors initially had no idea as to the cause. Some suspected an epidemic of "brain fever" of some sort. Others more accurately pointed to methyl mercury.
A small group of international experts on mercury were called in and methyl mercury poisoning was confirmed through contaminated food. When the imported grain was identified as the cause of the poisoning, Iraq's government acted decisively. Farmers were ordered to hand over all remaining supplies within a fortnight. To stress the urgency, a death penalty for possessing pink grain after that date was declared.

But most farmers had no access to radio, television, or daily newspapers. By the time most learned about the order and the penalty, the two weeks were gone and the army had started to execute those found still to be in possession of the grain. So the farmers dumped grain wherever they could: along roadsides, in irrigation canals, in rivers.
Fish soon became contaminated, as did migratory birds. One father of a family with several poisoned members and without any traditional food left stood in his doorway praising Allah for having made these migratory birds easy to catch when they had nothing else to eat. At hospitals throughout the country, doctors concluded that there was nothing they could do. There is no real treatment for methyl mercury poisoning.
In rural Iraq the tradition is that a person preferably should die at home with his or her family around. Thus, when they saw and heard that doctors couldn't help, people brought their sick family member home. Consequently, the official figures that put the number of deaths from methyl mercury poisoning at 6,500 people only cover those who died in hospital. The real number is certainly far higher.
The crisis did provide doctors with some greater understanding of how to detect methyl mercury poisoning. "Quiet baby syndrome," for example, when mothers praise their babies for never crying, is now considered a warning sign for methyl mercury induced brain damage in children. Treatment, too, has changed in the wake of the mass poisoning. The agents traditionally used to speed up excretion of inorganic metals from poisoned patients turned out to make symptoms of methyl mercury poisoning worse rather than milder.

Wrong posting thread, maybe goes on another?  Vhatever. Or another site.

Perhaps Sadiq can research this question as he appears to have much time and posts alot of religious type history/quotes.

In regards to "False Prophets" ... Biblical and Quran (Koran)/what is the correct spelling anyway?  thought was Koran? Sigh...  So many questions, too many answers, SIGH... ok back to original question/assistance request.

False Prophets, end times, many will rise up.  Correct?  Yeppers.  That would indeed require wisdom, etc..  That would mean that we must not listen to what ALL have to say.  We in this day and age tread on dangerous or at least extremely difficult ground.  A MESS we have in this world, one BIG f&^%$# u) mess.

The bible does say to pray for those in power, etc..  That goes without saying, THAT is IMPORTANT at least for we that are believers.

Does that mean that when it is apparent that they in power are doing wrong that we sit?  I am NOT saying I advocate anything to do with destruction/death and the like, WRONG!  I am just saying that in my mind it is our duty to educate others as to reality of this world.  As most of us agree, many do NOT want to know.  Big Macs, television, distractions of day to day, etc., prefer their blinders and lack of truth.  THEY are the ones that express anger when the truth is presented to them.  Irritating is it not?  Gives me one major headache and pain in the neck.

I may be repeating, oh well, somex's do that.  Somex's necessary for us all to do this.

2 steps forward, one back, so on and so forth.

me
