Dues, just how low can we go.

I've never been a supporter of the death penalty but those responsible should be shot. After years of telling my friends that being Iraqi was something to be proud of because we love family, children and value our young peoples future, today I'm ashamed to call myself Iraqi.

CBS NEWS SPECIAL

It was a scene that shocked battle-hardened soldiers, captured in photographs obtained by CBS News.

On a daytime patrol in central Baghdad just over than a week ago, a U.S. military advisory team and Iraqi soldiers happened to look over a wall and found something horrific.

"They saw multiple bodies laying on the floor of the facility," Staff Sgt. Mitchell Gibson of the 82nd Airborne Division told CBS News chief foreign correspondent Lara Logan. "They thought they were all dead, so they threw a basketball (to) try and get some attention, and actually one of the kids lifted up their head, tilted it over and just looked and then went back down. And they said, 'oh, they're alive' and so they went into the building."

Inside the building, a government-run orphanage for special needs children, the soldiers found more emaciated little bodies tied to the cribs, CBS News reports exclusively. They had been kept this way for more than a month, according to the soldiers called in to rescue the 24 boys.

"I saw children that you could see literally every bone in their body that were so skinny, they had no energy to move whatsoever, no expression on their face," Staff Sgt. Michael Beal said.

"The kids were tied up, naked, covered in their own waste — feces — and there were three people that were cooking themselves food, but nothing for the kids," Lt. Stephen Duperre said.

It is so desgusting and so horrible that I cried for half an hour when I seen this on the news. Those poor children. the man in charge was selling the food and clothes and leaving these poor boys to die. Even the care takers for the children who are women have no heart. They are savages. I hope with all my heart that they catch these savages and punish them with all the power of the law. This is why I left Iraq and will never return. I want to have at least some happy memories to look at when I am older. God bless the children.

Words fail me too. I watched a report on Arabiya yesterday and even the presenter had a lump in his throat. Sickening.

Sadiq i wish you simply vanish.
Whats happening here in Iraq happened in Poland and other countries where the governments failed to keep track of their employees, failed to protect the weak and the volunrables in the society.  It is time to change the government, not that it failed, but it lack experience in running the country.  Time that Al-Qaida put down their weapons and help their muslim brothers rebuild.  Killing never been and never will be the word of god.
And those turbin so called holy men.  Come out of your cacoons and see what you have done to our Iraq.  Damn you all...

Dude, you are the most screwed up guy on this forum. Onre minute you are crying for Iraqis and the next minute you are insulting Iraqis. I googled you and know you are an Iraqi so whats your problem? I would have posted more info but the rules of the forum prevent me from divulging personal info about other members. Its time you came out of the closet and admitted the truth. If you do this I will accept your comments but untill then no one will take you seriously.

Who gives the right to anyone to kill and torture????????????
To be religious is to have the fear of God inside you, how can they justify their action.
I saw a woman being tortured so she will admit to a killing, that is justice.  I saw men been held by their feet and repeatidly whipped with a cane, they were already tortured previously.  To be strong is to inflict pain on the weak, to feel strong is to have someone begging for mercy.
I am not ashamed for being Iraqi, I am ashamed of what 45 years of baath Party has done to our people, it divided them instead of bringing them together.
God bless all those who suffered.

I know everyone will agree that Saddam and his Baathi pigs were brutal and inhumane but Brothers and sisters of Iraq4you, he was a dictator and gave himself these powers. I bet not many of you know that in September 2006 a new bill was submitted to the senate giving the US president the power to order any torture techniques which do not rise to the level of “grave breaches” of the Geneva Conventions. The new bill gives the government the power to use confessions and other testimony derived from such torture as evidence in criminal proceedings.

Now my question to you all is this. If a brutal dictatorship uses violence it is to be expected and is called brutal and inhumane. But when the champions of democracy and freedom hold people indefinitely without trial and use torture to force confessions it is called necessary for National safety. How can there be such a blatant double standard in this day and age? Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. Let us not forget what happened in Abu Ghraib and who's to say it isn't continuing to this day in this and other Iraqi prisons?

Until the worlds only superpower sets the moral example for all to follow how can third world countries run by despotic dictatorships be expected to change their ways? The horrible truth is that just about all the civilized countries in the world use torture but no one talks about it.

Now dont go digging yourself deeper into fakery. Your already up to you neck in it. I already told you that I googled you and found your posts on zinda where you advertise yourself as from IRAQ. Now to who are you bullshitting? Zinda or Iraq4you? Take your time and try to come up with an intelligent answer.
