I liked Baccara's idea and feel pretty sure we could duplicate a similar event here in Amman. Perhaps others could follow this lead wherever they may be. It wouldn't have to be a massive event and all the proceeds can go to the ICRC. The Red Cross and Red Crescent are heroes as far as I'm concerned. Both have always had a very strong physical presence in Iraq for decades and they continue to be the main humanitarian organisations operation in the country.

Hey YS. Just a question: what did Americans do before personal shrinks and therapists came along? Seriously, does everyone in the states have a therapist and if so why? Its far less common in Europe and never mentioned in the Middle East. I hope the question doesn't offend you but I am curious!

Unfortunately I do not. However, I am busy creating a fuss here. Sent a 3rd letter to the White House, this x to Pres. Bush. Also fwd. to Star Radio, 105.7, Wood FM. They tried to phone me 4 x's today, missed the calls, had some crisis (a couple) going on here today. Will return their calls tomorrow. Also sent to MANY. I DO KNOW MANY ARE PRAYING. I have written Pres. Bush right after 911 and did rcve a personal letter signed by him and the First Lady. In my youth I also wrote to Pres. Regan and got a letter from him as well.
As also mentioned before, being the oldest of 10 taught me many lessons!
So as I have said before NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE. Never, ever ever EVER give up!
I can not imagine the US approving the "laying down of arms", although THAT is indeed a HUGE DREAM. Occasionally DREAMS do come true!
I can see a possibility of prayer tho.. I STILL can imagine it.
We can still have our own prayer w/out the powers that be ...

Hi YS and everyone contributing to this topic. I wanted to keep Calm's post going before he returns which should be any day now. Of course he might need a week to recuperate from his alcohol induced "holiday" so it might be a while yet before he graces us with his penmanship. Tanned, hungover and too drunk to F*#k. Harry, If someone could help me financially I would go lay on the white house lawn, no problem, I love the outdoors, the feel of the wind, the sound of the birds, the peace it gives me! No problem. However, Most likely couldn't fly. Am probably on some stupid list as perhaps "they" think I may be a problem. Sigh. NOT ... Trying to NOT sound arrogant here as Pride is indeed a Sin. However, God says to me. Here it comes kids the "crazy" (NOT) woman is going to sound pretty silly/off the wall/Nuts (I do NOT care)...."Permission Granted"... Have ALWAYS been highly sensitive, had dreams prior to happenings, visions, etc... off on since a child. I am a big girl now and have had many ROUGH (VERY) lessons that have brought me to where I am at present in my heart, soul, spirit, mind, etc.. As said before I should be dead, God has preserved me for a reason. Perhaps that reason is this day and age and all the horrible things that are happening. Ok, Ms. Big Mouth Bass (a joke between a friend and I) perhaps should have been born a man (Am NOT A Lesbian, for those that may not understand what I am trying to say here)has BALLS and is no longer afraid. So........Harry perhaps I may have a holiday (NEEDED) but will need an escort to drive and pray. My car would not make the trip, getting too worn out. Then I can go camping of which I love. I 100% refuse to GIVE UP. We have a saying in American "It ain't (can't spell that word because I was taught by my extremely intelligent earthly father NOT to use it) over until the fat lady sings".
I always use "NEVER EVER EVER GIVE UP". May be a repeat, I always repeat things. perhaps often get brain farts, whatever, do u hear me? no matter.

My boyfriend and I prayed today around 1 afternoon. For the CHILDREN in Iraq. hugs to ALL. (have been praying HARD since joining this forum, often lose track of x, dates, etc. when pray this hard, but feel it is necessary)

2day i speak 2 my family & friends & tell them they stop what they r doing at miday & think about families in iraq. i wish 2 u all peace & i pray iraq will recover frm this madnes. god bless u all & give u stregnth in this hard times.
Its time for us to stop and look at what we have become. It is time for us to put our weapons down. Its time for all Iraqis to forget the past and look to the future. Its time for all Iraqis to join hands as brothers and sisters no matter if they are Muslim, Christian or Kurd. Its time for all Iraqis to help ourselves by rebuilding our country. Its time for all Iraqis to stand up to Al Qaida and others who are hurting our childrens future. Its time for all Iraqis to remember who we are and who we represent. Yellow, Well my friends, X is still on our side for prayer. FYI, just attended a "Diversity" get together this weekend. What a Special X, next year I hope to be part of the planning, etc. for this outing. There was a booth for the Children of Iraq... Wonderful, Spirit FILLED people there, God WAS present in that place. (The night prior was at the local Blues Fest., Bands referred to God, prayer, etc., AGAIN the Spirit of God was so very powerful)!
If we do NOT get out 2 mins of prayer prior to that, I am SURE we can Arrange ALL at next gathering to Pray! NO Problem period!!! hugs again me
