Hi Calm. Did you think about setting up an online petition? Its free and will give everyone a starting point. You could then adjust your letter to focus everything on getting people to sign the petition which could be later be presented to the Iraqi, US, and British governments as well as the UN and other world organizations. Once you have enough signatures you could approach someone like Richard Branson for help. He' loves this type of publicity and has been on humanitarian missions to Iraq before. Who knows how far this thing could go if planned correctly?

Calm.
This is great, however, I have made some minor changes that I think will make it a little more effective. If anyone thinks they are not as effective as I see it, then they are more than welcome to make the changes they feel suitable.

The green colored italic words are additions, and the red words are to be deleted. (Again, this is just an opinion).

We, the suffering children of Iraq ask for your solidarity in organizing a 2 minutes action for peace, calling on all fighters to put down their weapons down and seek other, more peaceful, means in solving their differences. Today, the people of Iraq in their entirety are today facing the most crucial decisive moment in their recent history. Our The whole nation is facing a grave crisis as regards to our national security, unity of the country, and safeguarding of our existence the people.

Thousands of innocent men, women, and children have been killed and injured by these appalling terrorist attacks and sectarian infighting. More are dying every day and millions are at risk of starvation, and disease infestation. As of today, Hundreds of thousands are displaced refugees. Unexploded munitions remain scattered across the landscape; each bomb is a potential threat to an Iraqi child.

According to figures issued by Johns Hopkins University 655,000, or 2.5% of the Iraqi population has perished since 2003. We are confident that you will see This as is an enormous figure and we believe it certainly merits your consideration for this day of action. There are also 6.5 million Iraqis living outside the country, leaving behind their homes, their lands, and their families behind.

The two minutes is not only a symbol of our children’s cry cry from all the children of Iraq for peace. also and, it is a chance for us all to reflect and remember the victims and their families - but it's also a chance to show our solidarity that we will stand strong and united with the people of Iraq against terrorism and violence and the heartache it brings. We consider this to be an International examination of conscience and ask for your kind assistance in organizing this important, heart warming, and humanitarian event.

The 1st of June will be an ideal day. We ask your help us in generating support for our cause. It will be our dream to see every Church bells ringing, every mosque, every temple, every car horn, and everyone in this world give their support to those two minutes in one way or another.

May you have peace, and we thank you in advance.

Calm, Harry and YS: I came across this petition run by another Iraqi forum. It'll give you some idea as to whats needed to bring such issues to light. This one is to nominate Shatha Hassoun as good will ambassador to the UN (strange but true!). You can post petitions online using the following link: http://www.petitiononline.com/.

Azi. Do you think that we can contact those people in the other website (moreover all Iraqi sites) to join hands and do this together?

I think it will be a stronger effort, and will give us more resources to work with.
