Calm -> Who will throw the towel first? (2/13/2007 4:31:39 PM)

SalamI believe this is the end of civilization.  Buildings that stood for 100's of years, now they are ruins.  No words can describe how I feel at this moment.  Shame on you calling yourself Iraqis and destroy in the name of Allah.  There is no Fatwa no Jehad and no Martadium, this is one way ticket to hell.   http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/pop_ups/07/middle_east_baghdad_market_bomb/html/1.stm

that is why saddam hussain said before he died (if i died i will make iraq a land without humans) it means that he wants the iraqis to suffer more and more and more that is really something not normal.

It's perhaps the end of Iraqi life as we know it but hardly the end of civilization. It's just that the current situation in Iraq magnifies this Armageddon mindset for us Iraqis. As bad as we've had it over the past 50 years nothing compares to this. The one saving grace, if you can call it that, is that the Iraqi people are incredibly resilient. Just when all is lost they will find a way to recover. What shape that recovery takes is yet to be seen and anyone who thinks it will return in it's original form has a long series of disappointments to look forward to.
